Job Description


Role Responsibilities
The role is responsible in assisting the CPBB Head of Singapore in all matters pertaining to the success of the business. This includes execution of daily operational running of the business to strategic initiatives.
Strategy & Business
Assist the Head, CPBB Singapore with day-to-day operating rhythm and governance matters

  • Agenda management
  • Financial and sales performance monitoring
  • Draft papers and assist with preparations for governance meetings, e.g. Board, Exco, Conduct Committee
  • Organise CPBB SG MT meetings
  • Follow-up on outstanding action items
  • Escalate pertinent issues where necessary
Ensure effective internal and external communications on business strategy and performance
  • Produce high quality presentation materials and papers for senior management to build alignment and obtain buy-in
  • Ensure that key messages are cascaded throughout the organisation, e.g. broadcasts, town halls, frontline visits
  • Work with Corporate Affairs on a communications plan
  • Coordinate and monitor submissions for industry awards
Coordinator for regulatory and industry matters which cut across CPBB teams
  • Annual MAS strategy and CRAFT meetings
  • Regulatory submissions, e.g. Credit Conditions Survey
  • Business liaison for Association of Banks in Singapore
Processes
  • Support the Head, CPBB Singapore in overseeing relevant processes and continuously seek to improve the operational efficiency and effectiveness of processes.
  • Monitor the implementation of policies and control standards set by risk control owners and/or Group policy owners, ensuring the business is in compliance and operating within risk tolerance and risk appetite
People & Talent
  • Support the Head, CPBB Singapore in capacity planning and talent management, e.g. headcount tracking, IG programme planning
  • Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values.
Risk Management
  • Assist with oversight to ensure that systems and controls are in compliance with Group and Business policies, procedures, standards and codes, in accordance with the Enterprise Risk Management Framework
  • Abide by the Group\'s values and code of conduct and foster a robust culture to ensure that adherence with the highest standards of ethics, and compliance with relevant policies, processes and regulations among employees.
  • Do what is right in order to avoid reputational risks and operational losses
Governance
  • Maintain awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the Group operates
  • Support the Head, CPBB Singapore in delivering effective governance, e.g. appropriate reporting to governance committees, senior management, or risk or control functions as appropriate
Regulatory & Business Conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group\'s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • University graduate or higher qualification
  • 10 + years of experience in retail banking or consulting
  • Able to appreciate the bigger picture and zoom in on details where necessary
  • Able to work independently and exercise good judgement
  • Able to network and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
