Role Overview



The Butler/House Manager is responsible for overseeing the smooth operation of a private household,


delivering the highest standards of service, managing household staff, and ensuring all aspects of the


residence function seamlessly. The ideal candidate is polished, discreet, highly organized, and service oriented with a strong background in hospitality or private household management.





Roles & Responsibilities:



Household Management & Organization



Oversee daily household operations to ensure the home is running efficiently. Supervise and manage household staff (e.g., chefs, cleaners, drivers, gardeners). Managing daily household tasks, schedules, and routines to ensure a well-organized and efficient
home.


Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for household functions. Coordinate and liaise with external vendors, contractors, and service providers. Household budget management and expense reporting. Plan meals for family members and visitors, considering dietary needs and restrictions. Supervise daily meal service and aid in preparing grocery lists, while noting dietary preferences
such as vegetarian or gluten-free options. Collaborate with domestic helpers to maintain service


standards and efficiency.


Manage mail, parcels, special requests, and errands. Assist the team in upholding household standards. Supervise part-time contractors and vendors to meet service standards. Help manage budgets, track expenses, and pay bills. Manage household finances and transactions. Ensure home safety with access controls and emergency plans. Overseeing the installation and maintenance of security systems, managing access controls,
coordinating with security personnel, and implementing emergency response protocols.


Maintain confidentiality and discretion when handling personal, financial, and other private
matters of the household

Property Management / Maintenance



Ensure cleanliness, security, and presentation of the home at all times. Inventory and supplies management (i.e. user manuals) Vendor management / Managing household repairs, renovations, and maintenance schedules. Oversight, checks and schedule maintenance/ up-keep of all systems. Managing cleaning schedules, overseeing repairs and renovations, coordinating with contractors, and maintaining household supplies and equipment inventories. Organise ad-hoc maintenance and repair Emergency repairs and maintenance Overseeing and coordinating domestic staff, including maids, gardeners, and vendors. Managing daily household tasks, schedules, and routines ensures a well-organized and efficient home. Managing household repairs, renovations, and maintenance schedule

Staff Management



Supervise and manage the performance of domestic helpers, ensuring consistency, quality, and compliance with policies. All things salary/wages related including statutory compliance and reporting Work allocation, management and oversight. Attendance plan and schedule, weekly roster, etc Execution, training, performance etc. Guide service standards and manage staff performance.

Event Planning



Keep the home tidy and ready for guests. Greet and assist guests, ensuring a warm and professional experience. Plan and execute family gatherings, events, and special occasions hosted by the employer. Coordinating logistics, staffing, menu planning, managing contractors and services, overseeing guest lists and floral arrangements, and handling event logistics

Butler Duties



Provide formal table service, manage entertaining and event execution. Maintain wine cellar and liaise with sommeliers or vendors as required. Oversee wardrobe management and packing/unpacking for travel. Manage inventories of household supplies, Fine China, silverware, and luxury items. Over tailored and attentive service to homeowners and guests, including travel arrangements, errands, and special requests. Assisting in organizing and hosting events, including managing guest lists, catering, and entertainment. Maintaining the strict confidentiality and privacy of the household and its occupants Ensure prompt responses to messages or calls and provide timely updates on assigned responsibilities.


Requirements:



Live-in butler Minimum 5 years of relevant experience working in private homes as House Manager or equivalent roles, for high net-worth family. Cabin crew with supervisory experience or hotel butler service are also welcome to apply. Experience working at VIP residences has an advantage. Strong understanding of household protocol, etiquette, and luxury service. High level of confidentiality, discretion, professionalism, and trustworthiness. Hands-on, reliable and capable of taking initiative with minimal supervision. Efficient, flexible, self-motivated, organized, proactive, pleasant personality and service-oriented Meticulous, strong time management and leadership skills
o Excellent interpersonal skills capable of remaining calm under pressure and managing any unforeseen situation. o Fluent in English with good oral and written communication skills.


Willingness to work flexible hours/scheduling including weekends * Valid driver's license and passport; flexibility to travel if required
