Canteen Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the canteen, ensuring efficient service delivery, adherence to hygiene and safety standards, cost control, and customer satisfaction. The role requires strong organisational ability, financial acumen, and staff management skills.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, organise, and supervise the day-to-day operations of the canteen.
Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations.
Manage staff schedules, performance, and training, must restrict their personnel from loitering to other locations of the Hotel premises other than specified work areas
Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and control wastage.
Handle POS operations, and reconciliation of daily takings.
Resolve customer complaints promptly and maintain service quality, able to solve ad hoc issues.
Ensure kitchen and dining facilities are kept clean, safe, and well maintained.
Requirements
Proven experience in food service management, catering, or hospitality.
Knowledge of food hygiene standards, HACCP, and health regulations.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage budgets, control costs, and analyse financial data.
Organisational skills with attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
Flexibility to work extended hours where required and weekends work.
Qualifications
Qualification in Hospitality Management, Food & Beverage, or related field preferred.
Certification in Food Hygiene and Safety is mandatory.
Reports To Operations Manager
Work Conditions
Based in canteen premises with both kitchen and office oversight.
