Roles & Responsibilities

Taking measurements, drawing up plans for proposed works, sourcing materials, preparing estimates and undertaking shop/site visits.
Operate various hand tools, power tools and equipment used to complete carpentry duties including: circular saw, table saw, router, pneumatic nail gun, ramset, drills, and other tools used for measuring, cutting, fastening, and drilling.
Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment by conducting inspections, lubricating, and cleaning on a daily bass.
Installing wooden structures such as roofing frames, rafters, partitions, joists, stud, refinishing and retouching works.
Designing and installing cabinets, shelving, fitted furniture, drywall, insulation, saddles, covers and packaging.
Adding fixtures and fittings such as door handles, locks, hinges and closures.
Selecting lumber by size and strength to suit each job, sourcing wood to suit the customer needs, budget and style.
Liaising with clients, suppliers and other job professionals.
Reading blueprints and designs to work to specifications prepared by other construction professionals, architects and building code recommendations.
