DESIGNATION : Category Manager / Executive

RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Category Manager, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Responsible for the development and implementation of strategic plans for assigned categories within the framework of a disciplined category management business process so as to achieve company's financial goals and objectives, improve market share, customer satisfaction and productivity performance measures for the company.
  • Achieve category sales, gross profit and income goals and objectives of assigned categories through monitoring trends within the market segments
  • Developing strategies to grow the market share of assigned categories and to plan strategies to counter competition
  • Develop and implement an optimum product mix that focuses on customers' needs
  • Develop and implement promotional plans that bring excitement as well as incremental sales to the stores
  • Develop and implement placement and planogram strategies that improve category turnover and positively influence customer shopping behaviour
  • Develop and implement a competitive pricing strategy that delivers value to our customers
  • Establish collaborative retailer/supplier relationships to maximise income/terms/discounts to improve sales and profitability
  • Develop short , mid and long term plans to grow the assigned categories
  • Working closely with Ops to provide necessary product trainings / briefings to equip ops team to have better product knowledge


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Diploma, Degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in FMCG
  • Experience in the supermarket retail sector will be an added advantage
  • Data-driven decision making
  • Comfortable with numbers and strong data analysis skills
  • System knowledge in SAP and Microsoft Office
  • Able to work independently
  • Motivated, meticulous and results oriented
  • Resourceful and problem solver
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Team player and ability to collaborative and work effectively with a variety of stakeholders
