In Asia Citi Global Wealth, combines the Citi Private Bank and the Consumer Wealth organization, including the International Personal Bank, into a single platform to serve our clients. CGW Asia is a top three wealth manager in the region with over US$300B in clients AUMs and is looking to add in excess of US$150B AUMs by 2025 and further extend our leadership position in Asia.

Job Purpose:

The Regional Data & Analytics Head is a Managing Director role that reports to Asia CGW Head and is a member of the Asia CGW Leadership Team. The MD has business ownership of Asia CGW data across all client segments, products and risk stripes across various markets / legal entities.

The role has direct line management responsibility for 30+ team members which includes a number of seasoned Directors that acts as the as a Centre of Excellence focusing on strategy, direction, governance and provide a platform that the service recipients can leverage on. The role would also works closely with and provide oversight to various Data Analytics capabilities based in HK, Singapore, UAE and India.

This position will own planning, budgeting, and prioritization processes that underlie successful business data execution. Create strategies and tactics to enhance team effectiveness, ranging from talent levels, mix and quality of skills, and geographic placement approaches. Be a key evangelist for data transformation, facing off against various stakeholders including key senior executives globally, franchise wide data SMEs, transformation leads and regulators as needed.

The MD brings deep data analytics, management, governance, platforms, engineering and customer products capabilities to this role and is expected to work closely with Region & Country Seniors (across CGW businesses in Asia and UAE and also Legacy Franchise), Analytics and Information Management (AIM) Centre of Excellence, Technology and Decision Management team to develop, align and drive Citi\'s Big Data & Next Gen Analytics strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vision, Roadmap, Execution for the regional Data and analytics team working closely with the Consumer Wealth Country teams in HK/ SG and Client segments of IPB and Private clients.
  • Core Deliverables of the Regional Onshore regional team is on creating data products, embedding these into the workflow and defining governance and guidelines to improve Data and Analytics processes to cover: (1) Campaign Optimizations and Forums, (2) Data Products/Artificial Intelligence Machine Learning, (3) Data Governance, (4) New Platform/New Capabilities and (5) 3rd Party Data Management and Governance
  • Refine the strategy and priorities for CGW Asia Pacific and implement framework that will drive formalized accountability of data and ensure effective enterprise data management.
  • Support the business analytics integration across UHNW, HNW, Affluent Segment and leverage synergies to deliver the power of the Wealth Continuum through data.
  • Evaluate opportunities to embed data and analytics across our processes including areas of Client, Risk, Marketing, Sales, fraud, operations and enhance our growth, integration and client focus.
  • Provide strategic oversight, direction and lead the roll-out of the CGW Data strategy across the region with the segment and country Heads involving a on shore and offshore data team.
  • Track progress against roadmap, including financial outcomes, making mid-journey recommendations
  • Field a variety of inbound requests, participation in projects, etc, and help create prioritization frameworks.
  • Own budgeting and planning processes for the data organization
  • Lead the development and deployment of ASIA Consumers\' Big Data and Next Gen Analytics \'segment-of-one\' user stories to deliver key business must- win-battles and P&L commitments.
  • Responsible for the higher standards of Data governance considering cross legal entity and cross border data and Citi Consent order.
Process improvements:
  • Optimise and talent manage the data regional team to drive the priorities of the CGW Asia leadership.
  • Drive agile and collaborative team-working processes throughout the data organization; monitor progress against activities and actively "connect the dots" across teams where appropriate
  • Help streamline working model by harmonizing region vs country vs COE, including investigating additional COE constructs/locations
  • Define technology strategy for data in partnership with Tech teams, AIM teams and the business with the objective of data democratization
Data Engineering & platform engineering
  • Ensure ongoing projects on Campaign Data Assets Enrichment, Data Access Controls & Management are optimized, prioritized and on track
  • Awareness of reporting tools to evaluate current approaches to data Strategy / Cubes - Sourcing & Ingestion, Global Reporting Cube and implementation MC2020 Platform - Campaign Execution & Support
  • Establishing at regional level Tableau Design Standards, Development, Delivery & Maintenance
Communications:
  • Communicate progress against the data agenda down, laterally, and upwards, both internally and, with partners, externally; create "brand awareness" for data & analytics
People:
  • Lead, Influence & attract a large team of data leaders & specialists across Business analytics, data engineering, platform engineering data quality and control and marketing campaign management.
  • Design structured methods to upskill analytics staff, create standardized recruiting and employee assessments
  • Set strategic direction for the Offshore Analytics and Information management team
  • Integrate existing teams from the Legacy franchise Data and Analytics team and ensure retention of top talent while building a structure maximising the data strategy for Wealth management
Best practices:
  • Continually "bring the outside in" to learn and deploy best practices from other organizations or industry forums
  • Evaluate investments and business case planning for data technology and platforms.
Incumbent Specification

Knowledge/Experience/Technical skills:
  • Knowledge of wealth, private and consumer banking business across all product lines and associated business acumen
  • Experience managing external third-party relationships
  • Experience in Confluence, JIRA, Tableau and other agile team process tools
  • Experience in data engineering and digital platforms & capability implementation in large organisations
  • Superior multi-modal communication skills (video, graphics, etc) for disseminating our agenda
  • Possesses both strong analytical depth and technical familiarity across Decision Management core competencies (data, systems, analytics & campaign execution platforms)
  • Knowledge and experience managing large analytics teams; is aware of what "good" looks like
  • Must possess and demonstrate a "commercial mindset"
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in data/analytics
