The job holder reports to the Shipping Dept Manager.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the chartering management of Oil Products, LNG, and biodiesel for Unipec Singapore, and responsible for communication, coordination with Unipec Beijing HQ and other overseas Unipec companies, and handling of VLCC related operations:


Responsible for securing suitable vessels for company's logistics requirements. Understand the structure and terms of the charter party; ensure that the Charter Party (CP) terms and UNIPEC company policies & compliance rules are closely complied with and adhered to. Familiar with transportation chartering processes and knowledge about the product and trade characteristics, and the transportation market of Oil Products, LNG, and biodiesel, particularly within the China market. Ability to independently manage commercial disputes in the course of business. Update in-house chartering system by entering contract details and accruals costs where invoices are expected in accordance with the Charter Party.



Responsible for Shipping Broker Management with alignment from Unipec Beijing HQ and Unipec Singapore requirements, to ensure operational excellence from various sources including but not limited to traders, brokers, annual broker performance review, etc. Prepare registration documents for various counterparty registration to ensure company compliance rules are adhered to and counterparties are registered timely as per the chartering requirement.





Responsible for the enhancement and administration of the Chartering Management module in the Unipec ERP system:


Understand the operating characteristics of the ERP system, design principles, business and financial interfaces, risk control and transportation interfaces, transportation, and business financial interfaces and relationships, etc. Ability to effectively combining the development of Chartering Management functions with the financial, risk control, and business requirements of the ERP system to form an ERP Chartering Management module that has complete functions and meets management needs. Work closely with Unipec Beijing HQ to enhance operational workflows of ERP system Chartering Management module and maintain accurate data.



Responsible for establishing close relationships with:


Internal stakeholders - including but not limited to shipping/cargo operations, vetting, legal, finance, and any other concerned teams to ensure smooth communication within the company; work closely and provide support to Unipec Beijing HQ on chartering activities. External stakeholders - including but not limited to owners, charterers, brokers, agents, PNL clubs, and any other concerned parties/counterparties during spot/time charter shipment; liaise with China state-owned tanker owners and establish relationship for direct deals.
Responsible for the preparation of periodic management reports; submission of Chinese reports on the updates of transportation business and market of Unipec Singapore to Unipec Beijing HQ; exchange business and market information with relevant departments of Unipec Beijing HQ to foster business cooperation.





Participate in ad-hoc projects as assigned by the management.

Requirements

8 years of strong technical chartering experience in the commodity trading or tanker industry; experience in handling of VLCC oil products, LNG, LPG and biodiesel chartering is preferred Strong knowledge and experience in shipping operations and chartering activities within the China market and thorough understanding of China's port laws and regulations Strong shipping experiences in shipping operations, chartering, contingency handling, claims, maritime disputes, maritime legal affairs etc Experience with Shipping Broker Management and ERP system (Chartering Management module) Team player and ability to work in a fast pace organization and handle high volume Strong analytical, numerical skills and strong attention to details Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines Proactive and highly motivated approach Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook) Excellent written, spoken communication skills Good interpersonal skills, able to liaise effectively across countries and functions Possessing personal integrity and trustworthiness Attention to detail in all areas of work, ensuring good quality documentation
