The Chartering Broker acts as an intermediary between charterers and cargo owners and responsible for arranging the best possible deal for cargo rates. He/She monitors freight, ship hire and cargo rates and analyses reports on sales and freight earnings to monitor the business key performance indicators and results. He/She ensures that alldeals are in compliance with legal and regulatory compliance.The Chartering Broker also proactively seeks prospective clients and maintains a strong working relationship with existing clients and customers to ensure service standards are adhered to. He/She assesses the viability and risks of pursuing new business opportunities by synthesising ideas, processes and data to make recommendations.The Chartering Broker solves day-to-day issues and oversees the implementation of workflow improvements that may enhance customers' satisfaction, as well as optimise theuse of the organisations' resources. He/She guides and provides on-the-job coaching to the Assistant Chartering Brokers in their daily work.JOB REQUIREMENTS~ Analyse market data to identify business opportunities.~ Analyse reports on chartering activities and supply and demand of ships.~ Analyse reports on sales and earnings.~ Analyse risk management data.~ Analyse risks of potential business opportunities.~ Develop business unit plans.~ Find ships for specific employment.~ Manage compliance to risk management frameworks, policies and processes.~ Manage contracts with ship owners, cargo owners and brokers.~ Manage issues arising from servicing client accounts.~ Monitor the targets achieved against key performance indicators.~ Sales Contracts able to translate to Chinese as we had many Chinese clients.~ Able to reply email in Mandarin as our buyer are mostly from Mainland China.~ Negotiate spot fixtures/time charters to facilitate chartering operations.~ Oversee implementation of workflow improvements to improve efficiency.
