We are working with a leading global agribusiness on their search for a Senior Chartering Officer to join their dynamic commercial team. The role involves end-to-end chartering support for the trading division, encompassing the sourcing of appropriate vessels, negotiating competitive freight rates, optimizing fleet utilization, and mitigating chartering-related risks. Key Responsibilities:
Source and secure suitable vessels at competitive freight rates, supporting export routes and fleet optimization.
Manage charter party negotiations, fixture execution, and post-fixture operations.
Handle shipment-related claims such as demurrage and disputes to minimize financial impact.
Collaborate closely with trading and shipping teams to maximize vessel utilization and reduce voyage costs.
Maintain strong relationships with customers, shipowners, brokers, and other stakeholders to support business growth.
Provide support for domestic fleet deployment when required.
Candidate Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics, Business, or related fields
3-5 years of chartering or shipping operations experience, preferably in liquid bulk or chemical sectors
Strong knowledge of charter party agreements, freight markets, and shipping logistics
Proven negotiation skills and experience managing demurrage and claims
Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
Proficient in shipping software and MS Office
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
* Willingness to travel locally and internationally
