We are a privately owned vibrant 120 seat seaside restaurant and bar in the beautiful town of Trearddur Bay, North Wales, GB providing a casual sophisticated dining experience for locals and visitors. We are looking for an enthusiastic head chef who has chosen their career because of their love of food and pleasing customers to lead our hard-working team in our newly refurbished kitchen and FOH.
You will amaze the patrons of our establishment with excellent cooking according to the chef's recipes and specifications. Your work will be an important factor to a client's contentment. The goal is to expand our clientele and reputation to ensure long-term success.
RESPONSIBIUTIES/DUTIES:

  • Preparing menus in collaboration with colleagues, giving own recommendations
  • Ensuring adequacy of supplies at the cooking stations
  • Preparing ingredients that should be frequently available (vegetables, spices etc.)
  • Knowledge of different ingredients and foods
  • Ensuring that all stocks are kept under optimum conditions.
  • Prepare and cook menu items according to the restaurant's quality and service standards.
  • Follow the guidance of the executive or sous chef and have input in new ways of presentation or dishes
  • Train and supervise kitchen staff as directed by Chef-ln-charge. Ensuring that junior chefs and trainees receive the right training and optimum guidance.
  • Safety and cleanliness of all kitchen and food storage areas. Receive and safely store food
  • Contribute to creating a harmonious environment amongst all staff within the restaurant, effectively communicate with FOH
  • Ensuring that all dishes reach the hot plate or passe correctly garnished, the correct portion and size, presented on the correct serving dish in the prescribed manner.
  • Assisting with regular stock takes.
  • Receiving, recording, and accounting for supplies and deliveries.
  • Maintaining restaurant cost control systems as they affect your area of responsibilities.
  • Follow correct hygienic food handling practices.
  • Follow the restaurant's regular cleaning and waste disposal practices, enforcing strict health and hygiene standards
  • Optimize the use of restaurant resources: food, energy, labor, water.
  • Maintain kitchen equipment and plant in good condition.
  • Carry out other duties typically expected of the position as required from time to time.
  • willing to learn the ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, recipes, manuals, or statutory regulations.
  • Complete daily DOT and SFBB files correctly
  • Allergen awareness of dishes

REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS
  • Formal training in Culinary Arts or equivalent is preferred but not required if your experience and performance is exemplary.
  • Must have at least 2 years culinary experience in a similar role
  • Food Safety Level 2 qualification
  • Must be prepared to gain further food and wine knowledge.
  • Working knowledge of various computer software programs including, but not limited to, Word¬processing, spreadsheets, tablet computer, email and restaurant programmes.
  • Excellent use of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and processes
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure
  • Knowledge of best cooking practices
  • Must have and be willing to take courses
  • Ability to produce a high volume of work in a timely manner, which is of a high standard
  • Ability to work in a busy fast paced, demanding environment, whist maintaining a positive
