Roles & Responsibilities Our client has a guesthouse at Orchard and is looking for Chef to serve their guests when required.
Responsibilities:

• Set up the kitchen with cooking utensils and equipment, like knives, pans and kitchen scales
• Prepare meals according to employers' recipes or tastes, handling all meals for the guests and possibly for other household staff
• Monitor food stock, organize, clean kitchens and cooking utensils
• Shop for or order food and kitchen supplies and equipment
• Serve meals and snacks to guests
• Plan menus according to employers' needs and diet restrictions (e.g. gluten free and vegetarian)
• Plan and prepare food for parties, holiday meals, luncheons, special functions, and other social events
• Peel, wash, trim, and cook vegetables and meats, and bake breads and pastries
• Direct the operation and organization of kitchens and all food-related activities, including the presentation and serving of food
• Specialize in preparing fancy dishes and/or food for special diets
• Create and explore new cuisines
• Cleaning up and sanitizing
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area
• Check freshness of food and discard out-of-date items.

• Basic chef/cook experience especially for Indian/Vegetarian cuisine.
• Accommodation is provided.
• Hands-on experience with various kitchen equipment (e.g. grillers and pasta makers)
• Knowledge of culinary, baking and pastry techniques
• Ability to remain calm and undertake various tasks
• Excellent time management abilities
• Up-to-date knowledge of cooking techniques and recipes
• Familiarity with sanitation regulations.
