The Role Responsibilities
Job Summary
Responsible for TB Technology end-to-end, maintaining technology infrastructure capability, supporting the business activities across TB segments. For products and capabilities that are produced by TB e.g., Swift gateway but consumed by other segments, the TB Technology Team also provides capabilities and support services. Working closely with other parts of TTO to ensure that it is run end to end. Also supporting and delivering the Data and Analytics strategy and technology for CCIB Digital Channels and Data Analytics.
Responsibilities
Business and Strategy

  • Develop the strategic direction and roadmap for Transaction Banking Technology, align with Business Strategy, the TTO Strategy and investment appetite.
  • Drive Technology strategy to streamline processes, enhance productivity, reduce risk, improve controls, leveraging technologies.
  • Partner with Enterprise Technology and Architecture on digital agenda, pre-empt disruptive forces and commercialise innovative use of technologies, formulation of Best Practice and apply agreed methodologies in Transaction Banking. Create solutions that meets business needs while development and reusing assets for the long-term benefit of the bank and converging to common technology architecture.
  • Drive innovation and deliver the technology transformation agenda for Transaction Banking with the aim of making the Band a leading digital bank.
  • Drive transformation of Transaction Banking businesses to adopt scaled agile delivery to drive outcome-based OKRs/KPIs and improve customer experience.
  • Build out a strong engineering and development capability and lead the move to transform the Bank into a fully Agile software development organisation.
  • Prioritise business technology issues across risk, control, investment, people and projects with the Global Head of Transaction Banking appropriately, including the capability to deliver client journeys efficiently, on platforms which are consistent with core architecture. Minimise and unblock dependencies that slow client journeys.
  • Support respective businesses in the commercialisation of capabilities, bid teams, monitoring of usage, improving client experience, and collecting defects for future improvements.
  • Collaborate with the functions and support them in ensuring that their teams have the appropriate skill and capacity to support the business growth/complexity.
Processes
  • On Technology - responsible for the complete process of providing technology solutions to the Business, including solutions provided from other teams or from third parties.
  • Ensure that the TB Technology Team adopts best practice, technology standards and methodologies from Architecture and provides feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Allocate resources effectively to maximize efficiency of project delivery to ensure high quality service at the right price, managing vendors within the vendor management framework where necessary.
  • Implement Transaction Banking\'s transition to a product delivery organisation by bringing together the Build and Maintain teams within a Hive and to extend ownership and responsibility across the complete life-cycle for their respective products and services. This shift requires transformational changes in financial planning, risk & governance, capability planning within Hives and Teams

  • Lead and support a change in mindset, building a culture of client centricity, agility, and accountability through standardised metrics and measurement, ensuring everyone in Transaction Banking Tech are drivers and owners of client outcomes.
  • Employ, engage and retain high quality people, such that Transaction Banking Tech is skilled and experienced to deliver new digital and data experience for our clients, build a fully Agile engineering and development organisation, and promote team diversity and inclusion across capabilities, background, gender and race..
  • Ensure team structure/capacity is reviewed to enable delivery of client outcomes, and succession plans for critical roles are in place.
  • Set effective metrics and standards, transparently communicating them to team members, providing feedback and rewarding employees accordingly. Set the appropriate tone and expectations for the wider team.
  • Ensure the provision of ongoing training and development, ensure that direct reports are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles and that they have effective supervision in place to mitigate any risks.
  • Set and monitor job descriptions and objectives for direct reports and provide feedback and rewards in line with their performance against those responsibilities and objectives.
  • Provide feedback on transformation leaders to their people leaders, as part of performance reviews
