Team Summary

Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA) is Visa's consulting division, serving Visa's clients (including card issuers, acquirers and merchants) and solving their strategic problems focused on improving performance and profitability. Drawing on our expertise in strategy consulting, payments, data analytics, marketing, operational and macroeconomics, VCA drives high impact and tangible financial results. The incumbent will be part of VCA geographic team cluster of Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, Myanmar and Cambodia (IPVMC) markets, and will be responsible for consulting engagements with Visa's clients in this cluster of markets. The team is involved in a comprehensive range of consulting services and solutions to our clients, that address unique challenges in areas such as strategic growth, profitability, risk management, digital strategy and data-driven portfolio management decisions.

What a Client Consulting Director does at Visa:

We are looking for an individual to join us as a Portfolio Management and Digital Cluster Practice Lead (CPL) in Visa Consulting and Analytics for IPVMC Hub. This individual will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for both portfolio optimization and digital practice area across IPVMC working together with the Market teams and the AP Hub Practice leads. The Director will be responsible for significant components of client consulting engagements, and in most cases leading end-to-end delivery of these engagements. Typically, this will involve the Director interacting with the client team, gathering and managing project inputs, analyzing data to form conclusions and recommendations, developing and presenting compelling project reports and working with clients on executing recommendations.

As Client Consulting Director for IPVMC Hub, you will be leading VCA engagements for the IPVMC cluster. In this role, you are expected to:

  • Develop trusted advisor relationships with client senior executives through impactful Portfolio Optimization and/or Digital consulting engagements
  • Work cross-functionally with other Visa teams to bring a holistic solution to our clients leveraging Visa's rich value-added services (VAS) from functions such as Marketing, Products, Risk and Merchant Solutions teams in ways that leverage the breadth and depth of Visa's resources
  • Prepare client proposals and project plans, identifying dependencies, roles and responsibilities, scope and deliverables
  • Participate in delivering project engagements by preparing project materials including interview guides, data requirements, concepts, frameworks
  • Conduct industry research, drawing on Visa and partner resources as well as colleagues to identify global best practices and distill insights relevant to the client problem at hand
  • Continuously build knowledge, surfacing new insights and producing thought leadership pieces that contribute to practice development in the cluster
  • Create compelling presentations to illustrate findings, ideas, recommendations within consulting engagements and more broadly
This role reports to the geographic Head of VCA for IPMVC (Indonesia, Philippines, Myanmar, Vietnam and Cambodia) cluster. This position is based in Singapore.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office two days a week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

What you will need:

The ideal candidate will have already accumulated strong consulting experience and will be curious about the payments industry and keen to work alongside an experienced team in gaining a deeper understanding. You will be client driven, comfortable managing a project end to end and relishing the opportunity to work closely with clients to influence their future performance.

- Minimum 12 years' accumulated experience across retail banking, card issuing or consulting to retail banks
- MBA or equivalent education would be an advantage
- Exposure to customer experience design (using human cantered design / design thinking)
- Direct relevant experience in consulting roles and or payment / technology / financial services firms leading and executing large high impact client projects
- Good knowledge of the digital payments industry landscape and developments, consumer trends and regulatory changes in Southeast Asia, especially IPVMC markets
- Good understanding of Digital trends in Financial Services and Visa's core Digital products and services offering
- Understanding of card issuers' P&L and cardholder life cycle
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor
- Strong internal team and external client stakeholder management with a collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible style, able to work effectively in a matrixed organization
- Excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and written capabilities
- Self-motivated, results-oriented individual with the ability to progress multiple projects concurrently
- Experience in and passion for the power of analytics to inform and drive strategy and tactics, and proven ability to generate insights from data
- Strong commercial acumen, with experience in working on business/value cases that prove ROI
- Strong detail orientation, ensuring the highest level of quality/rigor in reports and data analysis
- Strong undergraduate academic accomplishment
- Willingness to travel (35%+)

What will also help:

- Experience in IPVMC markets and/or knowledge of local culture as well as regulation and industry trends
- Storyboarding and data storytelling including strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Understanding of statistical analysis, machine learning, modeling, scoring schemes, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects with excellent project management skills

Projects you will be a part of:

The nature of projects this role would play a key role in are varied. To list a few, this would include
- New product and experience development for clients
- Assess opportunities across cardholder lifecycle, conduct gap assessment and determine strategy or provide best practice recommendation to the client
- Driving digital adoption and engagement on client portfolios
- Evaluation of client mobile app functionality, benchmarking and recommendations
- Bring to life data analytics solutions and propensity models built by the Data Science team to ensure clients find value to take action such as running marketing campaigns to drive payment card activation and usage, changing policies or processes, launching new products, opening new channels, etc.
- Provide thought leadership and advisory service to our clients in the face of changing regulation and market landscape impacting business revenue streams
