Working within our healthcare information management system, you will maintain high coding quality standards while meeting Ministry of Health requirements.Some of the Key Responsibilities IncludeAbstract and assign appropriate ICD9 and ICD9 CM codes through comprehensive medical record reviewManage and maintain data integrity in the 3M Coding and Grouping Application SystemLiaise with healthcare professionals to clarify documentation and ensure coding accuracySubmit coded information to Ministry of Health within specified timeframesGenerate monthly coding status reports and perform timely follow-up on uncoded inpatient casesParticipate in internal and external audits and contribute to coding practice improvementsAssist in developing clinical coding handbooks for all specialtiesParticipate in continuing education and maintain ethical practicesJob RequirementsDegree in Allied Health Science or Medical Science or Nursing preferred with at least 1 to 2 years' related working experienceCertificate in ICD9 CM Coding preferredStrong attention to detail and analytical skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal abilitiesAbility to work independently and as part of a teamProficient in Microsoft Office applications
