Provide an appropriate climate for learning, and facilitate the adult learning process by developing, planning, and presenting educational activities and directly or indirectly fostering the development of competencies in the nursing staff.
Assist learners to identify both their learning needs and the effective learning activities required to meet those needs.
Identify changes that should be made in nursing practice using an evidence-based approach and facilitating the initiation of, adoption of, and adaptation to change.
Integrate new learning into nursing practice and serving as a resource by assisting nurses in identifying problems, identifying available internal and external educational resources, and selecting educational options.
Maintain clinical competence in their area of specialty.
Integrate ethical principles in to all aspects of practice.
Provide an on-going evaluation of the quality and effectiveness of the educational activities to ensure that they maintain and enhance professional development that promotes the delivery of safe and high-quality healthcare.
Evaluate own nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards, relevant statutes and regulations, and maintain continuing professional nursing competence.
Collaborate with others in the practice of nursing professional development at the institutional and state levels.
Consider factors related to safety, effectiveness, and cost in planning, delivering, and managing nursing professional development activities.
Job Requirements
(A) EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Certificate or Diploma in Nursing
At least 5 years' experience as a Registered Nurse in a Nursing Home setting and experience in clinical teaching is preferred
(B) PROFESSIONAL LICENCE
Registered with Singapore Nursing Board
* Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certified
