A Cloud Engineer (12 months, extendable) job has become available at a bank with a strong footprint in the region.

About the Cloud Engineer (12 months, extendable) Role:
In this role, you will be responsible for managing and developing teams, as well as deep hands-on experience with IaaS and PaaS with an emphasis on coding and automating all aspects of the infrastructure. This includes evaluating, designing, developing, and implementing high quality engineering solutions for the bank.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement work on the state-of-the-art container platform to allow customers to gain faster time to market
• Build, test, deploy and manage tasks with new technologies in Cloud
• Liaise with various stakeholders such as CIOs, Product Owners and Regulators
• Manage full-stack development and software testing during deployment cycles
• Support adoption of containers and container control frameworks for external and internal Cloud Services, including container platform selection and design, cost and license planning and ensuring that self-service design/deployment/control web containers is appropriate for requirements
• Ensure life cycle management consists of documentation such as test cases, source code repositories are adopted and maintained

To succeed in this Cloud Engineer (12 months, extendable) role, the successful incumbent must be able to design network policies to fulfil zero-trust principal. He/she must also be familiar with terminologies like OCI, CRI, CNI, CSI, kubelet, kube-proxy, api-server, containerd, runc.

Key Requirements:

• Strong understanding of Kubernetes, and how it works in kernel/user space. Must know the key pieces involved in Kubernetes Architecture
• Understands cluster networking/overlay network and how c2c, p2p, p2s, e2i traffic is routed. Familiar with one or two CNI implementations (Flannel, Calico, Weave, Cilium)
• Cluster administration skills such as Provisioning, Backup, Restoration, Upgrading and Deletion of Clusters
• Must have hands-on experience on container security and be familiar with CIS/FIPS/NIST benchmarks
• Hands-on experience with cluster monitoring/alerting/logging capabilities
• Golang programming skills
• Good to have: Cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure), DevSecOps, Terraform, Helm, OCP, GitOps
