The Role Responsibilities
  • Work directly with our technical teams, business management and market units across the organization.
  • Drive optimization through discovery, development, and sharing of cost-saving opportunities.
  • Responsible for integrating FinOps tools, support optimization at the enterprise level.
  • Support the cloud monthly budget and forecast process in managing consumption, chargebacks, show back, and savings in collaboration with accounting, finance, and technical owners
  • Support stakeholders in understanding their cloud spend based on their business roadmap and budgeted forecast.
  • Monitor cloud consumption at the account level to detect, investigate, and escalate anomalies and unplanned spikes.
Cloud Financial Management:
  • Chargeback of Cloud consumption
  • Assist Cloud SRE to capture benefits: Savings Plan, Enterprise Discounts, RI's
  • Proposal of service pricing model: creating a fully transparent process of capturing and recharging costs on a consumption-based activity
  • Establishing financial governance on Cloud onboarding to facilitate transparent, accurate and timely recharging of services
  • CIO engagement to support infrastructure initiatives and cost impacts such as Cloud migration, rightsizing, re-tiering storage support
  • Proposal of additional financial recharge models such as project versus run to create better understanding/transparency of cost base
  • Forecasting and budgeting of Cloud engineering, engagement teams
  • Cross border financial engagement models and charging of Cloud products
  • Engagement with 3rd party vendors
  • Stakeholder management with CIO's to report on LOB impacts
  • Commercial engagements: Deal Approval Board, RFP's to preview strategic, financial alignment
  • Direct involvement with save execution
  • Identify and create a service/consumption aligned model within Enterprise Technology, of which the purpose to propose a solution for cost transparency as an alternative to traditional allocation processes

  • Manages the successful delivery of the Cloud FinOps organization.
  • Monitoring and controlling the overall Cloud FinOps Plan in line business expectations.
  • Adapting to emerging risks and issues to maximize outcomes

  • Achieve the desired business outcomes.
  • Use influence and indirect leadership to bring teams together to deliver, remove any impediments, and drive a collaborative culture.
Governance
  • Analyze, report, and produce meaningful insights from large raw datasets within cloud billing and usage tools
  • Design, develop, and maintain reports and KPIs that provide detailed usage statistics of resources across the multi cloud landscape.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, IT or analytics; Master's degree preferred
  • 8 years of experience as Financial Analyst and/or Business Analyst background preferred
  • 2 years of relevant experience in Cloud FinOps/Cloud spend optimization
  • Experience in sourcing of public cloud services including cloud sourcing strategy planning, strategic supplier selection, contracting and commercial negotiations
  • Knowledge of cloud cost products (e.g., Cost Explorer, Azure Portal)
  • Strong understanding of public cloud players (e.g. AWS, Azure), their product portfolio and commercial models
  • Prior experience building custom reports with PowerBI, Apptio, etc preferred
  • General understanding of broad IT strategy and sourcing space and working market knowledge (e.g. key vendors, services and technology trends)
  • Ability to engage and interact independently with client personnel including architecture and procurement specialists
  • FinOps certification preferred
