As one of Singapore\'s Best Employers 2023, Jacobs would like to welcome a Coastal Engineer to join our Water business based in the Singapore office, as part of our commitment to dealing with climate change. The role will be mainly responsible for carrying out the study and design of coastal protection measures including coordination, consultation, and liaison with the relevant authorities to obtain all necessary statutory approvals for the study.

• Work in a team, reporting to the project manager and coordinating / interacting with sub-consultants doing coastal modeling works.
• Analyze projects and develop all budgets and schedules for coastal projects.
• Perform engineering analysis, preliminary, and detailed design of coastal and marine facilities.
• Liaise with clients and act as the contact point together with the project manager.
• Prepare tender specifications and other deliverables, taking guidance from the project manager
• Monitor all project deliverables and participate in all project plans and facilitate to develop an effective project schedule.

Here\xe2\x80\x99s What You\xe2\x80\x99ll Need:

To be a successful candidate you shall possess:

• Degree in Civil, Environmental, or Coastal Engineering. Registration as a Professional / Chartered Engineer.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in the design of coastal structures such as sea walls, revetments, earthen bunds etc
• Experience in the feasibility, planning, investigations, modeling, design, and construction of coastal engineering projects.
• Knowledge of anything related to climate change such as extreme rainfall, sea level rise, and storm surges
• Familiarity with the concept of multi-functional flood protection structures and innovative coastal protection strategies
• Ability to read engineering drawings and work with CAD staff to prepare drawings.
• Conversant in using MS office including MS Project, possess basic navigational skills to use CAD software (Microstation, AutoCAD)
• Good presentation skills.
• Possess a positive mindset to learn new tasks and willing to advance in career
• Excellent communication and writing skills in English
• Self-driven and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
