The College Nurse will oversee the provision of a clinically effective and high quality nursing care and welfare service to students, and First Aid care to all members of the school community as required. The College Nurse will also oversee the provision of a holistic approach to the care of pupils, including health promotion, PSHE, and the assessment and treatment of illness and injury. This will be a full-time role. Duties and Responsibilities: Provide triage and nursing care in one of the three College health centres on a walk-in basis, dealing with medical, physical and psychological needs of the students and wider college community Provide First Aid, emergency care and treatment as required on a call out basis Provide sport specific First Aid on site as required such as pitch side rugby cover and off site cross country First Aid cover Provide First Aid support for college events or sports fixtures after school hours and at weekends as pre-arranged and required Provide a confidential counselling and health advice service as required as part of the student support services team Have a high level knowledge of the college safeguarding policy and apply to daily practice Ensure care plans and action plans are developed, reviewed and written for pupils requiring them, eg. in the case of asthma, epilepsy, diabetes and anaphylaxis Maintenance of student's emergency medication stored in the health centres Daily and weekly equipment checking as appropriate Adhere to Ministry of Health's guidelines regarding infection control and management of infectious diseases Administering medications under protocol, keeping accurate dispensing records Maintain the stock in the treatment room and be responsible for the hygiene and tidiness of the area Follow procedures for the safe disposal of clinical waste Promote health education, and ensure the provision of, and access to, a range of appropriate publicity materials on student health issues Facilitate health promotion talks and education services for students, staff and Dulwich community as required Support teachers and outdoor learning Department with the management of student medical information and provision of first aid kits and supplies as required for both day and residential trips Maintenance and stocking of college First Aid boxes/ kits and AED's Adhering to PDPA, ethical and confidential guidelines regarding safe and accurate maintenance of all medical records and all communication methods Report and record accidents and incidents according to college procedures Competent and proficient with Administrative tasks that commensurates with the position such as processing of student medical forms and vaccination records Assist with other school initiatives such as enrichment days, Staff First Aid training and random drug testing as required Assist with contractor First Aid briefings as required All other duties that commensurate with the position of a College Nurse. Experiences: Experience in paediatric and/or public health nursing Experience of working independently and autonomously in making judgements on treatment Experience working in a school setting would be an advantage Experience of assessing children and young adults in relations to their health and development. Requirements: Candidates must possess at least Bachelor's Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Nursing or equivalent. Candidates must be registered with the Singapore Nursing Board, or be eligible and willing to do so.
