Job Overview The ideal candidate is responsible for the day-to-day operations of diverse fleet of commercially managed vessels.
Job Responsibilities
Act as an operator for tankers, parcel chemical carriers, bulk carriers and/or any other type of ship managed commercially by Commercial Services engaged on voyage charter / time charter / Contract of Affreightment, etc.
Issue voyage instructions to Master and liaise directly with the ships and the charterers
Issue and follow up on payment of freight invoices / hire invoices to charterers
Calculate lay time and report demurrage / dispatch. Issuing demurrage invoices as necessary.
Maintain separate voyage accounts for each vessel, appoint and deal with agents and inspectors
Assist in settlement of disputes with charterers and maintain records of off hire to minimize the downtime
Check voyage bunker requirement, collect bunkers quotes and purchase bunkers for vessel upon confirmation by Commercial Lead
Monitor ship\xe2\x80\x99s speed and consumption and vessel maintaining performance records, highlight under-performance to technical managers and ensuring that necessary steps are taken to rectify any under-performance
Ensure that ships are being operated as per charter party and maintain proper voyage records
For tankers, ensure adequate SIRE inspections have been carried out and liaise with technical managers vetting department for inspections
Create market analysis and reports of different shipping sectors and prepare monthly / weekly reports
Assist shipping asset protection work/restructuring undertaken with different banks and financial institutions
Liaise with technical managers, lenders and all other stakeholders associated with asset protection
Negotiate with trade creditor for the settlement of trade debts in asset protection
Analyze statistical data and prepare reports
Work with Operators and clients in the translation of documents/contracts
Job Requirements
University degree holder in Maritime / Logistics Management or equivalent disciplines
Minimum 3 years of experience in the maritime sector in Chartering or Post Fixture Operations
Experience in tanker operations is preferable
Able to work irregular hours including weekends to fit vessel schedules
Effective communicator with a good command of English
Proficient in using MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
