Our industry leadership includes our benchmark smelting technology and enviable hydropower position, key strengths in today\'s carbon-constrained world.We are looking for a Portfolio Specialist (Aluminium - Pacific) to help develop and execute the sales and product strategy for our aluminium smelters in Australia and New Zealand producing primary aluminium products for regional (principally Asian) markets.This role is a great opportunity for someone who loves and thrives in delivering strong commercial outcomes, while in close collaboration with different stakeholders from operations, logistics, procurement, finance and other support functions.Reporting to the Portfolio Manager, Pacific, you will be:
Supporting Portfolio Manager to drive value optimization for the book by providing commercial, financial and market inputs into the formulation of sales and go-to-market strategy for Pacific region, which includes:
Developing pricing strategy with analysis on margins and providing pricing guidelines for sales to negotiate with customers, taking into consideration payment, delivery terms, etc.
Optimizing sales and product portfolio both in the short-term and long-term to capture market opportunities, e.g. regional arbitrage, storage opportunities, taking into consideration production capabilities and supply chain constraints.
Assisting with negotiation of sales of primary aluminium to customers in the Region in accordance with the overall sales volume and product mix targets set out in the plan.
Assisting with preparation of annual sales plans for the region, including identification of the critical activities that are required to deliver on the plan.
Coordinating the contract approval process.
Collaborating with Atlantic Sales and Portfolio teams to optimize global aluminium book by identifying and managing intercompany sales from the Pacific to Atlantic markets.
Proactively developing and driving value over volume initiatives to consistently deliver the highest value sales plan, with a strong focus on markets, value chain, end-user requirements, and conscious of the underlying production constraints.
Participating in the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process to recommend the best options for strategic and tactical challenges at the interface of sales, operations, logistics, and procurement, which includes:
Identifying problem statements, conducting trade off analysis, developing recommendations, solutions and conclusions to senior management in close collaboration with S&OP stakeholders.
Working closely with Metal Management to review metal positions, driving the optimization between market needs and logistics or production capacities, establishing tactical plan to sell and capturing near-term opportunities.
Prepare financial analyses and develop solutions for these demand and supply issues.
Supporting Portfolio Manager to provide regular reports and analysis on performance against sales and marketing objectives as required.
About youTo be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
University degree.
At least 5 years of relevant working experience preferably in industrial B2B product / pricing management, sales and marketing or supply chain.
Experience in optimization of market/sales opportunities to manufacturing constraints to deliver maximum value for the business.
A self-starter with proven ability and agility to work in a dynamic and fast-paced matrix environment.
Good experience in working with large and complex data sets and presenting the findings to support business decisions.
Effective communication skills to articulate complex problems in a clearly, concise, and succinct manner.
Strong analytical skills and critical thinking to challenge status quo.
Strong time management skills and ability to prioritise workload.
Understanding of financial performance and underlying value drivers.
Advanced capabilities in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other MSOffice programs.
Team player with sound values and integrity.
