Job Description


The Cash & Trade Proc Sr Supv ( Commodity Trade Finance - CTF) is an intermediate level role responsible for ensuring transactions are processed accurately and on time in coordination with the Transaction Services team. The overall objective is to use technical expertise and comprehension of how the team integrates with others in improving efficiencies, completing deliverables efficiently, and accomplishing overall objectives of trade management strategies and customer service.

Main Responsibilities:

  • CTF transactional secured financing exposures and related collateral values and tenors to ensure sufficient collateral is always in place to satisfy the requirements of Citibank policies and procedures.
  • Act as a first point of contact for client\'s transaction requests.
  • Act as an intermediary between the processing units & compliance teams for sanctions, compliance, money laundering and anti fraud related issues.
  • Act as a single point of contact to stakeholders on document scrutiny and discrepant management for the clients assigned.
  • Escalate issues for quicker resolution.
  • Ensure strong focus on Risk and Control in transaction processing in terms of having appropriate customer documentation, accurate discrepancy notices are sent out and proactive identification of refusals.
  • Track the life cycle of CTF transactions, including the issuance, confirmation and reimbursement of import and export letters of credit
  • Help structure, coordinate, and provide technical assistance for complex CTF transactions and associated documentation, liaising between clients, internal and external legal counsel, Citibank branches and relevant Transactors, client Relationship Managers and Product teams to ensure workability for all parties and adherence to Citibank policies and procedures
  • Maintain clear and concise position reports per customer detailing transactional financing exposures and status of outstanding transactions ensuring that facility utilization requests from clients fall within the agreed credit parameters.
  • Report accurate positions for transactional financing per obligor and client group to the relevant CTF Transactors adhering to Citibank\'s risk management policies and procedures
  • Obtain prior product and risk management approval for any transactions that fall outside the agreed facility parameters
  • Provide operational support for undisclosed payment guarantees (UPGs) and AR transactions.
  • Accompany CTF Transactors on client visits if requested
Development Value:

Knowledge/Experience:
  • Knowledge of international Commodity Trade Finance operations, including the issuance, confirmation, advising, negotiation and reimbursement of import and export letters of credit, guarantees, UPGs and the use of letters of indemnity
  • Strong operating knowledge of Trade incoterms and market codes of conduct
  • Experience in monitoring physical collateral under secured facilities.
  • Knowledge of Citibank\'s approach to risk management and audit
