The Computer and Information Systems (CIS) Manager will plan, coordinate, and direct computer-related activities by determining the technology needs of the company and making hardware- and software-related decisions to meet those needs.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Hires and coordinates training of system analysts, programmers, and other computer-related workers on the CIS team.
Prioritizes and assigns team members to CIS projects.
Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
Manages hardware and software installations and upgrades.
Maintains information systems by planning, monitoring, and coordinating employees.
Develops private intranet and public internet sites.
Creates reports, programs, BAMs, and BPMs as well as add-on applications to perform small features on ERP-system.
Offers coaching, leadership, and training to manage staff performance.
Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, and training employees.
Assesses information systems results by auditing their application and results.
Participates in planning and designing technologies to meet the growing needs of the business.
Safeguards assets by planning and implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures.
Maintains safe and healthy working environment by ensuring that information systems staff complies with organizational policies.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Collaborates with users, vendors, technicians, and managers to understand and assess computing and system needs and requirements.
Communicates the goals, policies, and procedures of the company to the CIS team; develops plans to implement these needs.
Evaluates current technology use and needs of the company and recommends software and hardware improvements.
Oversees backup, security, and user help systems.
Remains current on advances in technology.
Provides technical support to users.
Prepares and delivers operational or project progress reports.
Implements and oversees operational budget and expenditures.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Thorough understanding of CIS principles, programs, policies, activities, and procedures.
Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize work.
Ability to explain technical problems and offer solutions to those without technological training.
Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Programming, or related field required.
Related experience atleast 8 years preferred.
Strong organizational and office technology skills.
Advanced background with ERP systems.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts.
Comfortable managing and leading a team.
Proficient in IT systems terminology.
Advanced experience in data encryption.
