Job PurposeRailway infrastructure such as tracks, tunnels and viaducts are inspected and monitored routinely to ensure safe use. Increasingly, the use of inspection technologies such as photo imaging systems, laser and ultrasonic scan systems are used alongside more traditional track visual inspections methods to determine the condition of the infrastructure.Railway buildings and facilities are also equipped with smart environmental control, pump monitoring, and lift control systems. These building conditioning monitoring systems could be OEM proprietary systems or 3rd party solutions.The job of the condition monitoring engineer is to: 1) understand the characteristics of the monitoring system and develop / refine condition thresholds to trigger maintenance actions for the system under their charge; and 2) be a technology scout to identify industry leading condition monitoring technologies to influence and transform maintenance regime.ResponsibilitiesThe Condition Monitoring Engineer is responsible for:
