Key Responsibilities

Reading and Interpreting Plans:

Studying blueprints, sketches, and building plans to determine project requirements and dimensions.

Measuring and Cutting Materials:

Accurately measuring and cutting wood, plastic, and other materials using hand tools, power saws, and other equipment.

Constructing Frameworks:

Building and installing structural elements, including walls, floors, roofs, and doorframes.

Installing Fixtures and Finishes:

Fitting and installing windows, doors, molding, and other interior and exterior finishes.

Renovating and Repairing:

Inspecting structures and repairing or replacing damaged wooden structures, fixtures, or other components.

Maintaining Tools and Equipment:

Caring for and maintaining hand tools, power tools, and equipment, ensuring they are in proper working order.

Ensuring Safety:

Adhering to safety guidelines and protocols to create a safe working environment and prevent accidents.

Collaboration:

Working closely with architects, engineers, construction managers, and other tradespeople to ensure project efficiency and resolve any construction issues.
Required Skills

Technical Skills:

Proficiency with a wide range of hand and power tools, including saws, chisels, levels, and measuring tapes.

Problem-Solving:

Ability to identify and resolve construction issues and make necessary modifications to designs.
