JOB SUMMARYThe project Construction Manager is responsible for the construction of the plant. This includes compliance to health and safety standards, environmental compliance, management of construction sub-contractors and the company's site management team.He/she acts as the Site Manager and shall oversee and manage the entire project implementation to ensure that project specifications are met, safety procedures are followed and actual progress or accomplishments are properly tracked to complete the project as scheduled and within budget.DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides day to day management of site construction activities.
  • Manages and coordinates the work activities of the construction subcontractors for the project.
  • Manages the company's site team of construction engineers, quality assurance engineers and safety officers.
  • Provide technical support and inputs during preparation, negotiation and finalization of claims submitted by subcontractors.
  • Manages the interfaces between the power plant, FCRS, switchyard and transmission line components of the project.
  • Lead the technical discussion and coordination during tender clarifications and evaluation of any proposed technical deviations or value engineering by a contractor or vendor.
  • Coordinates and interfaces with various support groups of the company to resolve issues and concerns that may affect the project activities or milestones.
  • Coordinates engagement of technical advisers or Owner's Engineer for the project to ensure compliance to requirements, timely and quality of deliverables.
  • Determine resource requirements and identify resources with right skills to successfully execute projects.
  • Assess potential project construction risks and develop appropriate mitigation plans in coordination with all stakeholders.
  • Oversee the construction site management and monitoring of site activities, including equipment delivery, project schedule and progress monitoring, budget tracking, and conduct of test and commissioning works.
  • Monitor actual progress of the project activities compared to the Contractor's schedule and provide a weekly status update summary report, with particular focus on project milestones and the critical path of the project (and tasks that are close to critical).
  • Perform a detailed review of each schedule/programme update that is issued by the contractor and provide a review report to highlight changes made, with focus on milestones and critical (or near-critical) activities.
  • Perform schedule analysis and scenario or option examination when changes to the program are needed to mitigate a delay or project issue, or accommodate a perceived improvement or opportunity to improve the program.
  • Monitor project payment milestones, including reviewing contractors' payment claims and validating if claimed milestones have been completed per the requirements of the contract.
  • Monitor the contractors' actual manpower, equipment and material delivery with respect to the contractors' plans, to ascertain consistency of the contractors' activities with the overall project milestones and completion schedule.
  • Facilitate and attend coordination meetings, technical discussions and problem solving discussions as necessary (in particular where programme issues are involved) to facilitate smooth and satisfactory progress of the work.
  • Facilitates conducts of punch-listing activities through inspection of completed works to ensure completeness and conformance with the detailed construction drawings and technical specifications.
  • Participates in the post-project review during closeout by sharing lessons learned and providing feedback and recommendations on various aspects of the project
  • Perform other tasks that may be assigned from time to time to support to the project.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Candidate must possess at least Professional License (Passed Board/Professional License Exam) in Civil or Mechanical Engineering
  • At least 15 years of working experience in a power or utility plant.
  • Minimum 7-8 years of experience in Oil & Gas, Energy projects in geothermal, Hydro PowerPlant, Coal, and Solar.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in solid Power Plants construction experience
  • Advance analytical and problem-solving acumen, results-focused and detailed-oriented
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Team player and able to multi-task
  • Knowledgeable in construction planning and scheduling
  • Proficient in computer software programs (ie MS Office)
  • Willing to consider project-based engagement for 12 months
  • Preferably local residents of Sorsogon or nearby towns/areas
  • Must have a GEOTHERMAL POWER PLANT experience
