To support the rapid growth of our consulting business in South APAC this role of Business Development Director has been created to focus on creating a consultative selling strategy to target existing clients within our APAC FMCG portfolio.

What You Will Be Doing

Work with Account Managers and their clients from which you will be identifying new Consulting opportunities. Most of your time will be spent positioning the value of Mintel consulting solutions with stakeholders, through discovery meetings and the development of custom built proposals. There\'s a reason we call you a trusted advisor-- this is less about the hard sell and more about having the capabilities, knowledge, passion and people skills to help the prospect make the best decision for their market intelligence and insight needs.

Take prospects through the entire buying process, from initial discovery and evaluation, through to proposal and close. Additionally, you will be involved (working alongside the Projects\' Lead Consultant) as the commercial liaison until the delivery has completed. Thereafter you\'ll continue nurturing and growing the client relationship.

To exceed quarterly and annual sales goals for consulting projects, whilst undertaking and reporting on your detailed plans and forecasts that you will develop with the Account Managers.

What We Are Looking For

  • Commercially minded with at least 7+ years of consulting, account management, business development. You must be brilliant at opening doors, with commercial intellect and executive presence.
  • Multi-channel prospecting via sales enablement platforms will be a big part of your daily activity - you will be expected to build and maintain your own pipeline.
  • Self-motivated as well as a terrific presenter and communicator, comfortable negotiating, creating urgency and holding tension with senior stakeholders. You should be an exceptional listener with the ability to ask the right questions and uncover the problem the client is seeking to solve.
  • The role is focused on uncovering strategic goals and challenges and being able to interpret and craft bespoke research solutions for both consumer facing and B2B clients so a proven track record in this field is essential
  • Enthusiasm, drive and positivity should all be characteristics you cherish and display. You should also be people-smart, displaying the emotional intelligence to put yourself \'in other people\'s shoes\'.
  • Continuous learning and self-development must be exciting to you. You will be expected to challenge your own assumptions, put yourself outside of your comfort zone, make mistakes and learn from them. You must be ready to embrace new technologies, processes and techniques as we continue to modernise our sales approach.
  • Attention to detail and adeptness for the routine reporting which comes with enterprise sales are vital. You will be expected to have an in-depth knowledge of your own sales metrics and ratios and accurately report back to the business using a structured forecast methodology.
