We are recruiting for a passionate Content Services Team Lead who will be part of the Content Services Team in Manila. The role will manage XML Developers and Software Quality Analysts who ensure that the quality of incoming XML contents conform to well-defined standards, and develop scripts for validating, handling and transforming these contents.

What will you do in this role? Working under the supervision of the Content Services Manager for administrative tasks in Manila and the Standards and Development Manager in the UK for the technical processes and activities, you will:

• Lead a team of XML Developers in the creation and maintenance of high quality XML processing tools within agreed deadlines; and Software Quality Analysts that develops and executes quality test across all XML processing tools to ensure that the delivered tools and scripts meet business defined criteria and are fit for purpose.
• Develop and maintain different XML tools and scripts by analyzing information and requirement needs; studying their workflows and processes; conferring to internal and external stakeholders if necessary; investigating system issues and then draw conclusions; and following the team's development cycle. You will also need to prepare project strategy and application roadmap for team work goal.
• Regularly submit monthly reports, metrics, and other documents as requested such as but not limited to updated job descriptions, workflow enhancements, training plans, Service Level Agreement, and key performance indicators.
• Evaluate the performance in accordance with the goals set and CUP & A's Behavioural Indicators, and discuss feedback to the team member to better carry out these responsibilities. This shall also include liaising with Cambridge colleagues for a more comprehensive assessment of the team member's efficiency, and make recommendations for promotion or advancement.

What makes you the ideal candidate for this position? You will be ideal for this part if you are a degree-holder or equivalent and ideally have publishing or typesetting experience. You will make a strong candidate if you have demonstrable experience of XML tool/scripts development and delivery, and knowledge of Agile frameworks/methodologies, backed up with actual experience. Strong leadership skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and experience of mentoring colleagues are also important. You will also be an ideal candidate if you have a working knowledge of XML, XSLT 2.0 and higher, XPATH 2.0 and higher, and Schematron.
In addition, experience, knowledge or expertise in the following would give you an advantage:

• Project management techniques and software tracking project progress
• XML technologies and have extensive knowledge in XML data modelling
• JIRA, Subversion, Git/GitLab/GitLab CI (YAML)
• Excellent standard of English – both spoken and written
• Team management
