The Manager (Strategic Communications) is a skilled marketing communications professional and a vital member of the Strategic Communications and Sustainability team at Income Insurance, reporting to the Head of Strategic Communications & Sustainability. The role encompasses elements of both brand, marketing and sustainability communications and is strategic communications partner to the company\xc3\xa2\xe2\x82\xac\xe2\x84\xa2s brand/product/digital marketing/sustainability teams, as well as, the Digital Transformation Office (DTO). In this role, the successful candidate leads public relations for brand/marketing campaigns and sustainability efforts to ensure that key narratives are amplified and resonated with the public to drive talkability and call-to-action by aligning news points and key messages across marketing channels. The candidate is also a digital native who is motivated by fast-paced digitalisation initiatives at Income and is adept at telling the Income digital transformation story creatively, leveraging traditional media, social platforms and influencer engagements. This is a role for a strategic thinker, creative problem solver and process driver who wants to have his/her hands in several things at once; who can provide end-to-end guidance on marketing and communication campaigns across traditional and social media touch-points; and who can collaborate well with others. Given that content is king in today\xc3\xa2\xe2\x82\xac\xe2\x84\xa2s fast-changing communications environment, the successful candidate is adept at ideating creative content across diverse and appropriate amplification channels that cuts through to different target audiences via an integrated communications strategy and approach. The candidate must flourish in a fast-paced, changing and deadline-driven environment, and must be a confident and effective communications partner to senior stakeholders in the company and press liaison for Income.
Key Responsibilities include:

  • Manage media relations, including the development of media engagement strategies and campaigns, as well as relationship cultivation and management of relevant press contacts and key influencers.
  • Effectively and in a timely manner attend to, coordinate and manage media responses, including forums.
  • Actively lead and drive media activities and events including launches, press interviews/engagements, development of press materials and creative communication assets, as well as a strong story bank to effectively secure good public amplification (not limited to press coverage and interview opportunities) of Income stories.
  • Support management of media/speaker and spokesperson training/briefing, including drafting of speeches/speaking points/media responses;
  • Support/drive content generation and development of communication materials including websites, marketing collaterals such as brochures/eDMs, social media content, editorial/blog content, FAQs and communication materials that support front-liner, channel and policyholder communications, translation of materials, where required; Track and assess communications/PR deliverables.
Qualifications:
  • Degree in English/Communications/Public Relations/Marketing Communications preferred.
  • 4-6 years of relevant experience in corporate and media relations or marketing communications, managing and executing communications campaigns for both an internal and external audience in a corporate environment or with a PR agency. Experience in a financial institution (FI) or managing brand/marketing communications for a FI client, especially an insurer will be a bonus.
  • Possesses good media contacts and sound knowledge of the media and influencer landscape and is experienced in building and maintaining relationships with key journalists/editors/influencers.
  • Excellent written and oral communications abilities, particularly around complex issues, and has experience offering strategic counsel.
  • Possesses strong track record in creating and implementing compelling communications campaign that is suited for diverse audiences to tell the Income story effectively publicly.
  • Is adept at leveraging a mix of communication channels/approaches for successful engagement with external audiences.
  • A self-starter who comes up with new approaches and is adept at responding quickly, thoughtfully and effectively to changing priorities in a demanding and fast-paced environment with diverse stakeholders of various management levels, and who work well under pressure and tight deadlines;
  • Is a strategic thinker with excellent project management, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple projects.
  • Meticulous and creative with a keen eye for detail and a strong sense of urgency and responsibility to consistently deliver high-quality and creative work.
  • A positive, energetic and self-motivated team player with a can-do attitude and creative flair to deliver the jobs-to-be-done.
  • Must be fluent in written and spoken English and Mandarin
