We are looking for a dedicated Cook to join our team, specialising in Chinese cuisine for our Zichar and Mixed Rice stalls. The role requires someone who can work well in a fast-paced kitchen environment, prepare quality dishes consistently, and uphold food safety and hygiene standards.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook Chinese dishes (zichar / mixed rice) according to recipes and customer orders
Ensure food quality, consistency, and presentation standards are met
Support daily preparation of ingredients, sauces, and condiments
Manage food storage, stock rotation, and minimise wastage
Maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene, in line with SFA regulations
Assist in receiving and checking deliveries of supplies
Work with the Head Chef / Kitchen Supervisor to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Cooperate with other kitchen staff for efficient service flow
Requirements:
Prior cooking experience in Chinese cuisine (zichar / mixed rice) preferred
Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen
Familiar with kitchen equipment and food safety practices
Good teamwork and positive working attitude
Physically fit and able to work extended hours
Willing to work 6 days per week, with 1 rest day on a weekday
Able to communicate in Mandarin, as the role requires regular interaction with Mandarin-speaking colleagues and suppliers
Skillset:
Strong cooking techniques in Chinese cuisine (stir-fry, steaming, deep-frying, braising, etc.)
Good knife skills and ingredient preparation
Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and SFA regulations
Ability to multi-task and work under pressure during peak hours
Teamwork and communication skills to coordinate with kitchen staff
