Headquartered in Chicago with offices around the world, Aeris is the preeminent IoT software company globally powering critical projects across energy, connected vehicles, transportation, retail, healthcare and more.Key Responsibilities:We are looking for a self-motivated, detail-oriented attorney to assume primary ownership of mission-critical functions in sales and a variety of legal areas, focusing on technology contracting. A successful applicant will be able to interface with customers and stakeholders across the organization, proactively address the needs of the business, and report to and consult with managers on a timely basis. We are breaking new ground in many ways and look for a \xe2\x80\x9ccan do\xe2\x80\x9d attitude that will drive to identification and resolution of problems.Contract Review/Sales Support

  • Review and negotiate technology contracts
  • Review and negotiate inbound vendor contracts
  • Review and negotiate NDAs
  • Maintain contract database and legal records
  • Work with Sales and Finance to finalize agreements, construct complex rate plans, and address ad hoc legal questions
  • Collect approvals and collaborate with our paralegal to coordinate contract execution
Product
  • Develop a deep understanding of new and existing SaaS products
  • Create and update legal documents for the sale and delivery of SaaS products
  • Collaborate closely with the Product team
Corporate Governance
  • Issue and track paperwork for new stock option grants, option exercises, and send out year-end tax notices
  • Understand complex capitalization structure and respond to management and stockholder requests for information
  • Manage global legal entity maintenance with the support of our paralegal
Minimum Requirements
  • You have a J.D. from an accredited law school and are a member of the Illinois Bar
  • You have 5-8 years of experience as a practicing attorney, preferably with 1-3 years of in-house experience at a technology company
  • You are comfortable working globally, across cultures and time zones
  • You should be able to do some domestic and international travel for the company (1-3 times per year)

  • You are passionate about the IoT industry and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • You are a self-starter, well organized and eager to master technology tools, including a contract lifecycle management system
  • You are able to communicate your opinions with confidence to stakeholders across the organization, yet know your limits and when to ask for help
