Define and maintain cost accounting policies and costing standards for raw materials, tools, hardware, labor, labor and material burden, WIP and finished goods
Develop, maintain and update cost accounting models and systems, standard costs to advise management on price changes in order to maintain and maximize profit margins
Analyze production costs and understand impact to costs of goods sold on the company's financial reports, which affects the company's bottom line, and recommend changes
Detailed analysis on gross margins related to a company's products, purchases and inventory
Understand P&L and balance sheet accounts to understand the main cost drivers of the business, and the impact coming from cost adjustments
Analyze cost accounting data and for preparation of regular reporting including gross margin analysis by site, by manufacturing process, by customer, by parts groupings
Assist with cycle counts/physical inventories/stock reconciliations
Close collaboration with IT on changes to ERP resulting from cost adjustments
Play an active role in costing for new products/projects
Business partnering with key internal stakeholders
Educate Operational and Production teams on the cost tracking and management
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
At least five years’ related work experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. An accreditation such as certified public accountant (CPA) or certified management accountant (CMA), as well as a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) are preferred
Knowledge of IFRS, US-GAAP in relation to Cost Accounting Standards
Must have a working understanding of the different techniques used to evaluate a product's cost such as the standard and traditional methods
Experience in activity-based costing for fixed and variable costs in relation to the overall direct cost of a line of products
Have working experience in designing and implementing data collection systems and data modelling in related manufacturing industry
Must have working knowledge and experience with cost management in ERP systems, preferably in Epicor ERP
Detailed oriented, ability to research, compile, analyze and interpret complex data
Strong organizational and time management skills; working under tight deadlines
Able to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders
Good written, verbal communication, collaborative and interpersonal skills with various departments – from management to direct labor staff
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office suite
Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
