About Birthday Research- Blockchain R&D wing of Cake Defi

Birthday Research (BDR) is the Blockchain Research and Development wing of Cake DeFi, a Singapore-based blockchain, and fintech company. Fuelled by the best minds in the industry, BDR seeks to develop best-in-class blockchain innovations with the mission of enabling the next bound of Web3. As a pioneering force, our work spans cryptographic research, deep blockchain consensus development, and smart contracts development — with a laser-sharp focus on driving the industry frontier while tackling the most demanding DeFi challenges of today. To date, one of our core contributions, DeFiChain, has garnered over 1 billion USD in total value locked on the layer-1 protocol.

We are now looking for a Designer with the passion and skills to complement our team. The ideal candidate should have strong design sense, an eye for details and believe that all of our products should be beautiful and accessible. Interest for motion graphics and crafting 3D assets are a big plus.

What you'll do

• Understand the needs, motivations, and aspirations of your audiences, to engage them in the most effective, and engaging way possible.
• Strong visual ideation and ability to design in a variety of styles for different channels and media—be able to craft compelling and on brand visuals, as well as effective key visuals and communication designs
• Support the team with design requests & ensure brand coherency and consistency across all creative output
• Able to distil complex concepts/content into understandable design solutions,
• Proactively identify emerging design trends, and contribute to robust internal creative conversations
• Meaningfully contribute to the ideation and conceptualisation of marketing, content and concepts, often in partnership with the stakeholders.

What you’ll need:

• 4+ Years of Professional Experience in a technology-focused startup, creative agency or freelance capacity.
• Understand the needs, motivations, and aspirations of your audiences, to engage them in the most effective, and engaging way possible.
• Strong visual ideation and ability to design in a variety of styles for different channels and social media platforms—be able to craft compelling and on brand visuals, as well as effective key visuals and communication designs
• Support the team with design requests & ensure brand coherency and consistency across all creative output
• Able to distil complex concepts/content into understandable design solutions,
• Proactively identify emerging design trends, and contribute to robust internal creative conversations
• Experience in designing visually rich and immersive web experiences for brands
• An excellent online portfolio showcasing solutions across multiple design challenges.
• Master at Adobe Creative Suite & other leading design tools.
• Able to function independently and in a team environment, with excellent collaboration skills.
• Ability and experience with After Effects and 3D design tools are a plus.
• Experience with blockchain, cryptocurrency and digital technologies are a plus.
• Fluency in English is required.
