Job Description


CREDIT ANALYST

1. Prepare Credit Application for Branch Level Approvals o Request for required information of the Borrower and the Guarantor, if applicable, from primary corporate banking teams to prepare the application for the Borrower. o Assess company’s performance including financial analysis, industry analysis and any other related information of the Borrower, and Guarantor if applicable. o Prepare Credit Application and discuss with the primary corporate banking team sfor finalization. o Attend Credit Review Committee (“CRC”) meeting and present the Credit Application to the committee.

2. Prepare Credit Review for Existing Borrowers o Perform annual/semi-annual Credit Review of borrowers with existing credit facilities not covered under Credit Applications including loans, securities, guarantees, trade finance, as well as to monitor the asset quality of these facilities. o Assess the credit facilities in accordance to branch and MAS guidelines. This includes Borrower’s / Issuer’s financial performance, country or industry analysis and any other information related to the Borrower / Issuer. Also includes review of compliance certificate and indication of any breaches in the review. o Comment on and recommend changes to the loan classification and internal rating of the Borrower/Issuer if required. o Obtain Credit Review Committee’s approval for the Credit Reviews. File approved reviews in their respective Credit Review files.

3. Prepare Minutes and Maintain Register for Credit Review Committee Meetings o Record discussions brought up in the CRC Meetings and prepare the minutes. o Assign CRC meeting numbers in sequential order and record the details of the approval being sought before circulating the minutes for signature from the respective CRC committee members. o Maintain the CRC meeting folder including obtaining and filing the minutes of each CRC meeting.

4. Prepare Monthly Schedule and Yearly Schedule for Credit Reviews o Prepare an annual credit review plan, with details including the targeted review date, to the management for approval. As the loan portfolio and securities portfolio vary from period to period, for standardization, the cut-off date to prepare the Schedule will be as of the latest fiscal year-end. o On monthly basis, update the annual credit review schedule to reflect the progress of Credit Review completion each month as well as any other changes. Monthly schedule to be certified by GM and DGM.

5. Prepare Monthly Dashboard to Monitor Loan Portfolio o Update the Dashboard on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy in risk control and monitoring of the bank’s portfolio. The Dashboard comprises information pertaining to loan covenants, financial covenants, financial statements, loan-to-value ratio and insurance coverage ratio, renewals and policies. o Collect the Compliance Certificates, Valuation reports, Financial Statements and Insurance Documents from Operations Department, check for completeness, timeliness and accuracy, and ensure that there are no breaches. o Inform all related departments of any breaches / non-compliance and the necessary follow-up actions to be taken.

6. Update Credit Policy and Procedures o Stay informed with the latest policy changes within the Bank as well as any regulatory changes from MAS or any other governing body and also, any recommendations from internal and external auditors. Prepare and update those changes in the P&P for Credit Review Committee’s approval.

7. Communication with Internal, External, Head Office and MAS Auditors o Support Credit department when communicating with all auditors, by providing requested documents and by responding to queries.

8. Any Other Adhoc Work and Projects o Complete any other adhoc work and projects as assigned by General Manager, Senior Deputy General Manager or Head of Credit from time to time.


REQUIREMENTS

o Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business or Accountancy o At least 2-3 years of relevant work experience o Possess strong analytical, critical thinking and good communication skills o Team player with strong financial analysis and writing skills o Sound understanding of MAS banking guidelines and regulations o Familiar with a wide range of different banking product types o Extensive knowledge of a variety of industries, espcially within Asia
