Your role

Do you want to serve as a Credit Officer on the CCP Credit team focused on control of counterparty credit risk? Are you interested in fundamental credit analysis, understanding more about the unique characteristics and risks involved in central clearing, and engaging with decision makers across our firm?

We're looking for someone like that who can help us:

  • evaluate CCP counterparty credit risk based on the analysis of both quantitative and qualitative factors, including an assessment of the default and risk management practices, a CCPs regulatory qualifying status versus regulatory best practice recommendations, and other factors.
  • prepare written counterparty reviews and credit proposals for submission and presentation to 1st and 2nd line senior management, providing recommendations on appropriate credit limits, and drawing conclusions related to the credit assessment and the Bank's risk tolerance.
  • interact with counterparties to conduct due diligence and obtain relevant information to complete credit requests and clarify issues that can arise as to the suitability of the different cleared products.
  • monitor counterparty credit quality, and regulatory qualifying status on an ongoing basis.
  • provide subject matter expert advice regarding our CCP risk models, for example our rating and stress models.
  • verify the integrity of data in credit and other systems.
  • liaise with our 1st line business partners and support staff to resolve limit violations.
  • participate with CCPs and industry bodies in consultation on risk related rule changes or regulatory proposals.
  • identify trends and developments across the Global CCP portfolio, and clearing industry in general.
  • work independently on ad-hoc projects.

Your team

The CCP credit team is responsible for supervising credit relationships across UBS' global CCP portfolio, and other clearing and settlement related credit relationships including payment, clearing and settlement houses, 3rd party clearing brokers, and custody relationships as applicable. Clearing exposure results from both UBS house and UBS client clearing activities across a wide range of asset classes across ETD, OTC, SFT, and equity.

Your expertise
  • relevant experience in the credit analysis of central counterparties is preferable
  • 3+ years of experience in a credit analyst or related financial service position
  • knowledge of international financial markets, securities and banking industries, and traded products
  • prior experience analysing the financial conditions of companies, and/or financial institutions
  • familiarity with relevant trading documentation, including FIA clearing agreements, CCP rules & regulations. ISDA and CSA, MRA, MLSA, and MSFTA
