[What the role is]
This position sits within the School of Business.
[What you will be working on]
Facilitate student learning in best practice culinary skills and knowledge, in keeping with the vision, mission, goals, objectives, policies & procedures of the diploma and organization
Provide feedback and consultative input in curriculum design, content, assessment and food preparation, service, operations and delivery
Prepare, review and improve lesson plan and instructor manual regularly and when needed
Conduct fair and unbiased student assessment with the view to maximize student learning
Managing the day to day running of culinary production areas to the highest standards
Ensuring all assets are operational ready for daily running of all kitchens
Participate in new recipe and menu development
Performs other related duties as required
[What we are looking for]
Academic training in Culinary-related subjects
At least 5 years of industry experience
Knowledge of Food & Beverage Operations and Management
Operational and production skills in culinary and food service with specialization in Baking & Pastry
Knowledge of food and industrial safety and sanitation best practices
Knowledge and application skills for classical and modern cuisine (baking & pastry), both theory (including terminology, equipment usage, product knowledge, cooking techniques etc) and practical
Ability to facilitate student learning using best practice educational methodologies
Knowledge of computer software applications pertaining to course delivery e.g. PowerPoint, Word, Excel or equivalent
Effective communication and networking skills
Participate in Culinary-related competitions is an advantage
Passionate about teaching/student learning
Highly meticulous and systematic
Flexible, change ready
Good team player
