Position overview

The Customer Technical Development (CTD) function is designed to provide strong technical expertise and value to our customers by leveraging the entire product portfolio,

resources, and know-how of the GBU. We are looking for creative, curious self-starters and leaders interested in non-routine challenges to join the Technical Development team

and support consumer market in SEA (South East Asia). The engineer will be responsible for providing technical application development expertise to customers and will interact with the internal organization

(commercial teams, application development team, R&D, Manufacturing, etc.) to develop total customer solutions.

Job responsibilities

\xe2\x97\x8f Work directly with customers in collaboration with the sales and marketing to identify & develop

application opportunities where company\xe2\x80\x99s specialty polymers add value and solve customer problems.

\xe2\x97\x8f Market segments include consumer, healthcare, construction, environment, hemodialysis, and packaging.

\xe2\x97\x8f Elicit a complete set of customer requirements and develop the value proposition of company\'s materials.

\xe2\x97\x8f Acquires dynamic market knowledge and competitive landscape understanding.

\xe2\x97\x8f Work directly with the Global CTD community and our Research and Development teams, to develop and implement solutions for customer applications. This includes polymer material recommendation and validation, design support for metal to plastic conversion, prototyping support, tooling design

recommendations, testing, and processing assistance.

\xe2\x97\x8f Provide technical training and literature for both internal and external use about designing with

polymers, polymer selection, polymer processing, simulation and prototyping.

\xe2\x97\x8f Champion sustainability solutions.

\xe2\x97\x8f Collaboratively interact and share expertise with the global CTD team, and create technical marketing literature.

Basic Qualifications

\xe2\x97\x8f Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or equivalent applicable technical degree.

\xe2\x97\x8f Minimum 10 years of experience in a technical position working with polymers: knowledge of

polymer physics, material selection, and processing.

\xe2\x97\x8f Mechanical aptitude, experience in part and tooling design and failure analysis

\xe2\x97\x8f Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively to build deep relationships with both

external customers and within a global client team.

\xe2\x97\x8f Strong communication skills & customer-focus.

\xe2\x97\x8f Willing and able to travel 40% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications

\xe2\x97\x8f Preferred candidates will have a good understanding of all polymer materials used in the consumer

appliance space such as, PET, PA12, PA11, PPA, PPS, PEEK, PAEK , PVDC, PVDF, PPSU, PESU, PSU, and

others.

\xe2\x97\x8f Ideally, candidates will have real hands-on experience working with polymers in a manufacturing

environment (extrusion, injection molding, compression molding, coating, membrane spinning).
