Job Description


THKMC was incorporated on 13 October 2011 as a charity to provide multiple social and welfare services to the community at large, and achieved an Institute of Public Character (IPC) status on 18 November 2011. THKMC is the charitable arm of Thye Hua Kwan Moral Society, which lives by the mission To Serve Mankind to help anyone who needs help regardless of their race, religion, colour, language, creed and culture. THKMC today serves more than 70,000 beneficiaries through more than 70 programmes across five Services, which include Disability, Early Intervention for Children, Family, Seniors\' Community, and Therapy.

  • Planning and facilitating individual and group Dance/Movement Therapy sessions to address therapeutic goals for adults with intellectual disabilities and other comorbidities across three long-term care homes and one day activity center.
  • Managing incoming client referrals, assessing clients\' needs, strengths, and therapeutic goals, as well as monitoring clients\' therapeutic progress.
  • Documenting clients\' therapeutic progress through monthly case notes, maintaining session attendance records, and other client-related paperwork.
  • Collaborating with the multidisciplinary psychosocial care team and interdisciplinary creative arts therapy team in developing client-centered therapy programs, providing input to case discussions, supporting treatment planning, as well as making client referrals were necessary.
  • Openness to facilitate Dance/Movement Therapy information sessions and workshops for staff across the Disability Division.
Qualifications
  • A Master\'s degree in Dance/Movement Therapy from an accredited university.
  • Registration and/or membership with relevant local or international professional regulatory body or association(s) for Dance/Movement Therapy.
Other Information
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of developmental and psychosocial needs of persons with disabilities (intellectual, physical, other developmental disabilities) and mental health challenges.
  • Capacity for empathy and good interpersonal, communication, and listening skills.
  • Ability to work independently within one\'s discipline, as well as collaborate with professionals within a multidisciplinary team setting.
  • Engage in regular external clinical supervision and seek opportunities for continued professional development to ensure best practice and ethical care offered to clients.
