About the Department
The Data Management Office and Big Data Analytics function answers the demand for quality and credible data across the Group.

Data Management Office
We govern the use of data across the Group and provide guidance for data management and usage. This optimises the value of data to enable smarter, faster and more accurate decision-making as well as improve operational efficiency. Above all, we ensure adherence to all data governance standards as determined by regulators.

DMO serves dual roles for UOB. First, DMO ensures that the Bank meets all data governance standards set by data regulators. Second, DMO optimises data management and usage to help the Bank make smarter, faster and more accurate decisions and to improve operational efficiency. DMO comprises Enterprise Data Governance & Quality, Enterprise Data Delivery and Monetisation and Enterprise Data Management
The Enterprise Data Management (EDM) within the DMO serves as:

• The single point of contact for users across UOB for data issue escalations. The EDM ensures that data hosted in data warehouse is of good quality and conforms to data standards such as completeness, accuracy and consistency, to support regulatory and management reports. The team also promotes data automation and makes use of data to help develop initiatives to improve productivity.

• Data discovery through provision data requests to respective playpen for business units across the Group. The objective advocates self-service data exploration and analysis within and among Business/Support Units. Data definition and specification documents are available to provide navigational guidance and support for data provision purposes.

Job Responsibilities
The incumbent is responsible for multiple aspects of data management and operations for the firm, including database administration and design, business intelligence and data architecture, data analytics, governance, and quality. Specializes in the planning and delivery of computerized databases, including base definition, structure, documentation, long-range requirements, operational guidelines, and protection, ensuring accuracy and completeness of data in master files and various support tools, and performing needs assessments.

Job Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor Degree or equivalent professional qualifications in Computer Science with at least 5 years of working experience in banking industry, preferably with business / functional knowledge;
• Experience in gathering and documentation of business requirements;
• Proficient in the following:

• Data Profiling
• Data Modeling
• Data Pipeline design
• SQL Scripting
• Automation
• PYSpark Programming
• Qlik Dashboarding
