Data Analyst

The Job

To support the fast-growing data analytics function, we are looking for generalist Data Analysts as well as Data Analysts with a specific background in Experiments & A/B Testing. You will be responsible for helping business units within SPH derive insights and develop dashboards using internal / external data as well as business experiments. You are expected to be highly independent, and to lead business intelligence and analytics projects through the entire lifecycle. The ideal candidate will possess relevant domain, technical, critical thinking and interpersonal skills. You will be working with a team of data scientists, data analysts, data engineers, and software engineers to develop data products for more intelligent operations and to solve real-life problems. You will be helping to shape data platforms and data products for the core media business and other adjacencies. The team is highly diversified with members from completely different backgrounds, but we all believe in systematic approaches and we are always open to new solutions.

Requirements

• At least 2-5 years of experience in a Data Analyst role

• A good university degree in Statistics, Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Business Administration or related fields. Or relevant experience in lieu of a degree.

• Experience in developing and deploying production-grade dashboards with Tableau (preferred), Qlik, PowerBI, Google Data Studio

• Experience in data extraction, aggregation, and processing with SQL

• Experience in creating compelling data reports & presentations

• Strong data story-telling and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate findings in a clear and actionable manner to stakeholders

• Exposure and understanding of digital media industry metrics a bonus

• Good time and project management skills, able to multitask.

• Track-record of independent learning and problem-solving

• Keen interest in stakeholder management

Additionally, for the Data Analysts with a focus on Experiments & A/B Testing:

• Familiarity and working experience with A/B testing using statistical evaluation

• Familiarity with Google Optimise or other online testing tools would be a bonus

• Understanding of and experience in applying Bayesian A/B Testing approaches would be a bonus
