About the Role

AJW Consultancy is partnering with a leading data centre operator in Singapore to hire a

Data Centre Facility Engineer

. This role is pivotal in ensuring the reliable, safe, and efficient operation of the client's mission-critical infrastructure. The successful candidate will work as part of the on-site engineering team managing electrical, mechanical, and building systems to ensure continuous uptime and compliance with operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee and perform

day-to-day operation and maintenance

of data centre facilities, including electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems. Conduct

preventive and corrective maintenance

on key infrastructure equipment such as UPS, chillers, CRAC/CRAH, PDUs, and generators. Support

troubleshooting and incident response

to minimize downtime and ensure rapid restoration of services. Monitor

building management systems (BMS)

, ensure all alarms are acknowledged, escalated, and acted upon promptly. Coordinate with vendors and contractors for scheduled maintenance and repairs. Ensure

compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards

, including ISO and ASHRAE best practices. Maintain

documentation and reporting

for maintenance schedules, incident logs, and performance data. Participate in on-call rotation and provide 24x7 support as needed for critical events.

Qualifications & Experience

Diploma or Degree in

Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Building Services Engineering

(or related discipline).

3-5 years of relevant experience

in a mission-critical or data centre environment. Strong understanding of

power systems

, including switchgear, UPS, backup generators, and power distribution. Knowledge of

cooling systems

, CRAC/CRAH units, and fire suppression systems. Hands-on experience with

BMS / EMS

platforms. Good communication skills with the ability to interface with internal stakeholders, vendors, and customers. Willingness to work shifts and respond to emergencies after hours if required.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

Data Centre certifications such as

CDCP, CDCS, or CDCM

. Knowledge of

IT infrastructure

integration with facility systems. Experience in

green data centre operations

or energy optimization. Familiarity with

Singapore's data centre regulatory frameworks

(e.g., IMDA, NEA, BCA).
