Data Science Analyst

SUMMARY

In this role, you will be reporting to the IT Business Engagement APAC, Data Scientist, to analyse operational and market data, propose and build predictive models to implement proof-of-concepts (POC) and minimum-visible products (MVP) to solve real-time shipping industry challenges. This role supports the engagement team to define functional requirements, and technical documentations to facilitate industrialization of POC/MVPs for production-grade implementations. There is an opportunity to participate in end-to-end solutioning and not limited to data science modelling projects.

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented data science professional to join our growing team in the Asia Pacific Regional office in Singapore.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Gather business requirements from business users

Develop front end mock-ups and document functional requirements to validate business require-ments with stakeholders

Collect, cleanse, process and analyse data (company and market data)

Building models to solve real-world problems in the area of

o Data science not limited to anomaly detection, deep learning, machine-learning, time-series,

o Generative AI projects

o Operational research not limited to network optimization, shortest path for maritime road

Collaborate with Data Scientist and Solution Delivery teams to conceptualize end to end IT solution, and ensure POC/MVP projects are executed successfully

Perform testing and facilitate user acceptance testing with business

Proactive regular communications and status update to project leads and business stakeholders

MINUMUM REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science or a related field.

At least 2 years of experience in data analysis roles, preferably in a large organization, where you have successfully bridged the gap between IT and business teams.

Proficiency in data science programming languages including Python and SQL.

Good experience in machine learning concepts and libraries, and front-end development. Familiarity with data visualization tools will be an advantage.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to identify and address complex business challenges through technology solutions.

Good communication skills to present technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.

Good interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with IT and business stakeholders.

Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing changing priorities and expectations.

Knowledge/experience in the Shipping/logistics industry will be advantageous

Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $4,000.00 - $6,000.00 per month
