Roles & ResponsibilitiesPurpose of RoleThe role is responsible to develop new and improved ways to create value for Barghest Building Performance (BBP) and for its clients by leveraging innovation, technology and data. The role has overall responsibility for identifying and recognizing patterns in BBP data that could be translated into significant further energy savings or additional value created to the client.Main Responsibilities

• Drive and execute data strategy
• Develop, together with the Chief Visionary Officer, a strategy and roadmap for data analytics at BBP
• Execute day-to-day data analytics activities
• Develop and prioritize, with the input of the Chief Visionary Officer, concrete projects to bring the technology roadmap to life
• Lead internal cross-functional projects linked to data analysis and pattern recognition
• Lead the development of talent and partnerships in the areas of analytics

2. Discover new data patterns, trends and algorithms improving BBP's business

• Together with the Engineering Department, conduct advanced statistical analysis, identify data trends and actionable insights for BBP and its clients, especially measure performance
• Identify data patterns, trends, logics and algorithms that make BBP more efficient, cost-effective or add value to clients
• Validate and in-field test data patterns with local teams to ensure correct interpretation and result of data logics and analysis created
• Roll out, constantly monitor and iterate validity of models and algorithms developed across industries and markets

3. Define BBP's data strategy

• Define and improve the ways in which BBP acquires, stores, manages, shares and uses data
• Defines standard data storage structure, location, security requirements, and access
• Define guideline and rules for accessing, processing and sharing data
• Define process to combine data sources in a unified, consistent, BBP data database
• Document data strategy and educate, train BBP colleagues according to agreed data access and processing policies

4. Cooperate with and inform internal stakeholders

• Provide regular updates on the status of the data strategy roadmap
• Support communication internally and with clients around data and data

Qualifications1. University Degree in Engineering, Data Science, Statistics or equivalent with min 3 years or more of experience in data mining and automation2. Prior experience in automation, IoT and R&D an added advantage3. Ability to program in any high-level language is required. Familiarity with statistical packages also ad added advantage4. Proven problem solving and debugging skills5. Ability to manage simultaneous tasks in a fast-paced, technology-oriented environment.6. Familiarity with database technologies and tools, data warehousing, transformation, and processing7. Good understanding of mathematical foundations behind Machine Learning algorithms such as Probability, Statistics, Linear Algebra, and Optimization Techniques is a huge plus8. Possess statistical knowledge9. Entrepreneurial attitude, hands-on10. Self-motivated, able to work well both independently and as part of an agile team.11. A demonstrated enthusiasm and capacity to learn new technologies quickly
