DD/Director, Business Planning and Development




Job Purpose


Reporting to Managing Director, Strides Engineering, the role will:
1. Lead the Business Development team to obtain better brand recognition and financial growth through organic expansion, new businesses, and merger & acquisition. Working closely with the business lines within Engineering and other Business Units to review current market trends for new business ideas that can improve revenue margins.
2. Plan for the business strategy of current businesses and formulation of new growth opportunities and business ideas that can contribute towards improving revenue and profit. This will require working closely across different business areas of Engineering Plans, Business Unit Plans, corporate support services to understand customer’s needs, conduct of market trending and financial analysis to ensure strategic alignment to all stake holders to support the business.



Responsibilities


You will lead the business development team, review and monitor overall business performances, and your responsibilities include:

• Develop new-business opportunities, manage existing sales pipeline, generate new leads, identify, and screen potential business opportunities and close deals to meet target
• Develop strategies and structuring of new businesses or deals with partner companies including conducting due diligence on potential M&A targets, new-venture integration, nurture opportunities and partnerships
• Monitor and evaluate industry trends and customer drivers, manage proposal response and submission with proper financial evaluation
• Develop and implement sales and business development strategy, sales processes, structure, and best practices.
• Collaborate and provide support on the commercialization of identified products and services both locally and overseas
• Formulate the strategic objectives, performance scorecard, financial forecast and success metrics for the annual budgeting exercise.
• Track progress of work plans to monitor and review the financial performance to deliver on financial and performance targets
• Oversee the business planning functions of enterprise risk, audit, compliance, safety and security, and Kaizen
• Work with stakeholders on regulatory and policy matters to ensure compliance
• Collaborate with stakeholders on marketing in areas of content management, marketing budgeting, and managing the various platforms for effective outreach
• Preparation and reporting of monthly Management and Board reports

Qualifications & Work Experience


Qualifications and experience include:

• Preferably 10-12 years of working experience business development , corporate planning partnerships, investment, and M&A activities with 5 or more years of experience working in a management capacity.
• Degree in Engineering, Business Management, Economics or related field preferred

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate and engage with various levels of stakeholders, customers, and vendors
• Strong planning and budgeting skills with experience in corporate planning for a large organisation with multiple business lines
• Excellent analytical thinking with an ability to analyze ambiguous issues and translating into meaningful insights
• Meticulous and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with good analytical, writing and presentation skills
