Team Summary
: The Visa Asia Pacific Legal team manages Visa's legal affairs in the Asia Pacific region. Our team provides advice and services to ensure business goals are successfully met and that Visa's brand and reputation are protected while minimizing legal liability and regulatory risk. Our vision entails each legal professional living the guiding principles to be a proactive partner who never loses sight of his/her responsibility to protect the company. We are looking to upskill and improve the Legal Planning and Operational part of the function to ensure relevant, dynamic support for our Legal professionals and the AP region. What a Business Planning and Operations Analyst, AP Legal does at Visa: The role is responsible for a wide range of activities required to support the Chief Counsel (Asia Pacific and CEMEA) in ensuring smooth and efficient operations of the Visa Asia Pacific legal team, delivering against regional and global priorities. The role is based in Singapore but will be required to work with stakeholders across different geographies and functions in the management of business planning and operational matters for the Visa Asia Pacific legal team. In particular, it will require close collaboration and liaison with the Global Legal Operations team (headquartered in the USA) in the rollout and implementation of global initiatives for the Visa Asia Pacific legal team. The role provides an excellent opportunity to support a high performing team in a multinational environment– Specific responsibilities span across the following key areas:

  • Support Chief Counsel and key stakeholders on budget tracking, budget management and related financial reporting
  • Partner with global stakeholders and assist with developing and implementation of department initiatives in our regions, such as identifying training opportunities, upgrading of Legal tools and curating training curriculum as well as planning and execution of regional events
  • Manage external counsel and vendor engagements, including vendor onboarding and management of professional fees budget
  • Establish and maintain new workflows, processes, and record storage applications for the team to ensure proper knowledge management and compliance with internal policies.
  • Advocate and drive engagement and support for key initiatives and programs
  • Assist with key governance activities such as internal audits on internal processes to ensure process relevance and integrity
  • Identifying and recommend process improvement opportunities to Chief Counsel, and partnering with relevant stakeholders to implement approved solutions
  • Act as subject matter resource for the team on all legal operations and internal processes
  • Partner with Legal Assistant and be the point of escalation for all administrative and operational matters
  • Support Chief Counsel and team on any operational matters as and when required

Qualifications
We are looking for an experienced individual with a curiosity about payments and Fintech, who is results-driven, and client focused. As a candidate you should have:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
  • 6-8 years of experience in business planning / strategy
  • Strong communicator with excellent quantitative and writing skills
  • Natural collaborator with aptitude to manage and work with multiple stakeholders
  • Analytical mindset that balances attention for detail with the ability to take a strategic perspective
  • Must be comfortable with ambiguity and multi-tasking
  • Comfortable dealing with senior stakeholders in a matrixed environment
  • Ability to function well and deliver under high pressure/timelines.

What will also help:
  • Some business planning/operations experience across a range of markets and/or functions preferred within a complex matrix organization.
  • Similar role in a large law firm or multinational

Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office two days a week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% of the time based on business needs.
