Job Description
Singapore American School is looking for a debate coach to work mainly with our Grade 9 and 10 students (Sec 1-4 in local school context).
This is a part-time position on our campus in Woodlands. Practices are held Tuesday and Thursday from 3:15pm - 4:30pm.
Our debate coach will be responsible for:
- Training our lower-level debaters in a manner that is not only educational but engaging and fun.
- Prioritizing the growth and passion for debate and public speaking for all of the students in the cohort (15-20 students) rather than prioritizing the development of champions.
- Preparing squads for local tournaments such as the Singapore Secondary School Debate Championships and attending the competition.
- Providing asset-based feedback during practice and after competitions.
- Attending a 90 minute training on Child Safeguarding.
- Embracing the \xe2\x80\x9cEagle Way\xe2\x80\x9d or our core values of Excellence, Extraordinary Care, and Possibilities.
- Collaborating and communicating effectively with the Debate Coordinator.
