JOB DESCRIPTION Our client is actively searching for a Deputy Director, Procurement to join their team!

The Deputy Director, Procurement is expected to provide strategic and operational leadership of the Procurement Department. The position is to formulate and review procurement policies and procedures and drive procurement systems to ensure that they are aligned and consistent with the strategic objectives.

The responsibilities of this role are:

• Develop and lead the procurement strategies across the University to support the University\'s objectives.
• Ensure fairness, transparency and cost effectiveness in the entire procurement process.
• Drive strategic buy and demand aggregates to leverage economies of scale.
• Support end to end procurement operations according to the Procurement Policy and Procedures, including managing tenders and quotations.
• Lead business process improvements to increase Procurement efficiency and agility.
• Establish and maintain regular communications and training with stakeholders to drive alignment of business requirements, economic opportunity areas and mutual accountability through procurement activities.

The ideal candidate will need to have the following qualities and experience:

• Degree with 15 years of relevant procurement experience.
• Experience in leading a team / department.
• Ability to motivate team members to deliver high-quality results in an agile, culturally diverse environment.
• Versed and experienced with Government Procurement Policy Framework
• Proficient in Microsoft Office & ERP systems, such as SAP S4 Hana and Ariba is preferred.
• Driven with positive mentality, strong initiative.
• Resourceful and meticulous.
• Methodically decisive in the face of ambiguity.
• Proven and observed cross-functional team leadership experience preferred.
• Flair in writing and managing systems are necessary.
• Possess strong communication, interpersonal and coordination skills.
• Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
