What the role is:As a Deputy Director in the National Mental Health Office, you will play a critical role to support the development of strategies and services and promotion of social-health integration in mental health and dementia care. You will engage and form partnerships with a diverse group of clinical and professional stakeholders and advocates to support research, conceptualisation and development of future care models and system designs. You will be working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment that would require the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders at the same time.What you will be working on:a) Oversee the coordination of youth mental health services across different settings; b) Oversee the review and development of care models, monitoring implementation and progress, and managing of funding of youth mental health services and programmes in the community and hospitals; c) Oversee the development and management of psychiatric ILTC and associated programmes and services for youths; d) Provide the policy oversight and coordinate mental health promotion and preventive pieces undertaken by relevant partner agencies; and e) Oversee the development of strategies and implementation of measures to enhance youth resilience and address triggers of poor mental health including those targeting social media useWhat we are looking for:

  • Relevant qualifications in healthcare, public health or related field, preferably psychology or allied health or life science. Minimum 12 years of relevant work experience in healthcare and public policy development. At least 5 years of experience in a managerial role and able to think strategically Strong project management, implementation and budget planning skills (supervisory position) is preferred. Strong understanding of health and social care sectors Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse qualitative and quantitative data, and develop evidence-based recommendations. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Need to be able to work with and build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders Key Competencies Require Thinking Clearly & Making Sound Judgements - Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to support the crafting of sound policy recommendations; ability to grasp timelines, operating context and ground realities.
