COMPANY\'s BRIEF INTRODUCTION NYK Group South Asia (NGSA) Pte. Ltd. was founded in 1983 and is a company based in Singapore as the Regional Management Office (\xe2\x80\x9cRMO\xe2\x80\x9d) for global shipping and logistics services. NGSA has strong presence in the South Asia and Oceania region to provide dynamic supports to the NYK group companies in the region. We are currently recruiting a Deputy General Manager to join NYK Group South Asia. The candidate must be an enthusiastic, proactive and motivated individual with real passion for the above segment, with experiences in project management, chartering, operation of dry bulk vessels and management of related companies. In addition, he or she needs to frequently use the Japanese and Chinese language to report to the Japanese, Chinese clients as well as to related stakeholders. He or she should have the ability equivalent to N1 of the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test in listening, speaking, reading and writing.

JOB OUTLINE Candidate is accountable to manage and control the technical and operational aspects of dry bulk fleet management & operation requirements with regards to dry bulk fleet delivery activities through effective optimization efforts and safety management. Candidate is also responsible to ensure that the daily business activities are in compliance with the NYK Group Credo and business policies. He or she reports to the General Manager and carry out co-leading functions of the company. He or she must ensure timely and accurate response to customer\'s request and liaise with each stakeholder (internal/external) for smooth coordination for all transactions.

Position level : Deputy General Manager Appointment: Permanentrole Minimum experience: at least 10 years in shipping industries including 2 years in dry bulk fleet and proven leadership and management experience Working days: Mondays to Fridays, and Saturdays and Sundays if travelling is required Working hours: 8.30am \xe2\x80\x93 5.30pm Qualifications : Diploma / Degree in Finance and Accounting, Law, Economics, Political Science, International Relations or relevant discipline Salary: S$10,000 \xe2\x80\x93 S$18,000 Job duty office add : 1 HarbourFront Place, HarbourFront Tower One, Singapore 098633, able to travel to related company\xe2\x80\x99s offices in Singapore.

Your duties essential for the job:

  • Making company\xe2\x80\x99s mid and long-term development plan
  • Leading the company together with General Manager according to above development plan by providing directions and necessary supports
  • Forming appropriate fleet development plan (purchasing, chartering etc) corresponding to increase of cargo volume in the future
  • Carrying out feasibility study for fleet development plan
  • Reporting company\xe2\x80\x99s activities and details of financial information to stakeholders and responding to their requirement
  • Communicating clients to gather cargo information and future\xe2\x80\x99s project plan
  • Communicating vessel owner to acquire necessary space for client\xe2\x80\x99s requirement.
  • Gathering market information both vessel and cargo (iron ore, coal etc) to make appropriate fleet development plan.
  • Gathering and updating shipping regulations especially related to environmental issue
  • Studying possibility of utilizing new fuel (LNG, ammonia etc) to correspond for environmental issue
  • Supporting operation and chartering stuff to carry out smooth and safe operation

Basic requirements:
  • Strong experience & deep knowledge in vessel operation, chartering, and project management.
  • Good knowledge in financial field in order to collaborate with financial division when company carry out investment for the project.
  • Excellent technical. Analytical, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Good computer proficiency and literacy with regards to extensive use and application with spreadsheets, databases and presentation packages.
  • Verbal and written communication skills in English, Japanese and Chinese in order to communicate with partner companies, group companies and the Headquarter in Tokyo.
  • Ability to travel worldwide where necessary.
  • Experience in managing and leading a team in business.
  • Ability to engage and motivate people to enable them to perform highly.
  • Positive attitude, resilience, cultural agility and adaptability
  • A team player with transparent working manner and willing to take ownership of an opportunity and hands on every aspect of the job.
