Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and the Audit Committee, the mission of Sanofi Internal Audit and Risk Management (SIA + RM) is to provide independent and objective reasonable assurance regarding the group's ability to control its operations according to the Institute of Internal Audit (IIA) international standards. Sanofi Internal Audit and Risk Management helps the company execute its strategy and achieve business objectives by assessing and improving the effectiveness of Sanofi's governance, risk management, and control processes, and is committed to alerting management on significant risks and monitoring their effective mitigation. The Department relies on 3 Hubs: Paris (France), the Americas and Singapore as well as on 2 Centers of Expertise: Information Systems and Contract Audit. As Deputy Head of Internal Audit, Americas, you will work in a diverse and multi-cultural team environment, leading a team of auditors to plan and execute dynamic risk-based audits and identify value-added recommendations to strengthen Company processes and controls. Audits will include North America-based operations, major affiliates in Latin America, strategic projects, standards, and critical business processes, as well as consulting activities. Responsibilities Work collaboratively with the Head of Internal Audit, Americas to develop and execute against the annual audit plan and advisory commitments, including annual planning, resourcing, risk assessments, and audit scoping Supervise and oversee audit teams to perform planned operational, compliance and integrated-IT audits across different functions and sites Ensure audit pre-scoping, preparation and fieldwork, including testing and evidence, is sufficient to attain and support conclusions in accordance with Sanofi Internal Audit and the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) standards. Review draft audit reports to ensure they include clearly written findings, observations and recommendations that effectively communicate identified issues and their related corrective actions to help auditees and senior management strengthen and improve operations Demonstrate and maintain working knowledge and staying current on developments in audit literature' including those specific to our industry Create an organization of change agents through the management and development of audit staff Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Internal Audit Department Qualifications Required: A BA/BS or advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or other business discipline. A minimum of 10 years prior public accounting or internal audit experience, including experience in forensic, financial, operational, or compliance auditing. Strong analytics skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy Knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS and IIA standards. Fluent in English Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to travel approximately 20% of the time, including international travel for up to two weeks at a time Proficiency with Excel/Word/PowerPoint Data Analytics experience preferred Preferred MBA or other advanced degree Professional certification (i.e., CPA, CA, CIA, CISA, CFE or equivalent) Experience with a Big Four firm Experience in healthcare and/or life-science industry Experience in developing written reports and delivering presentations Leadership and management skills demonstrating integrity and professionalism. Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and intellectual curiosity Developed business partnering, collaboration, and interpersonal skills required.
